Got my tickets for Friday am. The film here is actually showing Thursday evening as well. Hope it's not a Galactic Turkey.

A serious question. 

If we had never heard of Star Wars and A New Hope was just being released for the first time this week, would it be the big hit that it is, or would it only be a mediocre movie.  The story line isn't any spectacular and a lot of movies have great CGI effects today.

Probably not, but we've also been spoiled with some great movies over the last 35 years inspired on large part by Star Wars

Our local drive in theater is showing it. I think we're going to go on Saturday. And it's only $7 for adults :)

Would Star Wars have been a big hit if Lucas had begun the story at episode 1 instead of 4?  Meesa thinking 'no'.

I remember 1999 when The Matrix and The Phantom Menace came out.  I passed over the Matrix and waited in line for Episode I... I regret it to this day!

Trailer for Force Awakens looks amazing, and I'm glad George Lucas is out of the picture this time around.

I will say this - one of the best trailers of all time was for Phantom Menace.  As a trailer setting the stage for the movie, it was nearly perfect.
