One great divergence of history would have been the decision to use the Einsatztruppen to murder Jews and other civilians in the wake of the German Army. Had the Nazis had any kind of foresight they could have easily had hundreds of thousands of loyal soldiers from the Ukrainians, and the Soviets wouldn't have stood a chance.

Yeah yeah, I know the idea was presented to Hitler, but he refused to arm large numbers of ex-Soviets and only allowed Vlasov's Army and some auxiliaries. Seems that someone might not have approached it as "well, why not let the (ex-)Soviets from 'iiberated' territories bleed for their country, instead of letting Germans bleed for their country?" Fortunately it did not turn out that way, as there would be no doubt what would happen once the Germans were victorious and in full control.

Still, the point is, had the Germans come as those liberators the Ukrainians saw them as, things would probably be a bit different today.
