7 Days Until Fallout 4

Fallout 4 is out November 10.

I pre-ordered from Amazon.  I think this is the first pre-order ever.

Steam's deal seems lame (I don't play DOTA2), and I missed the 23% off GreenManGaming had (now it's just 20% off).
Gamersgate's deal with the 75% off coupon for Skyrim is useless for me (already got it), though the 10% back in Blue Coins could be interesting (it is after all 60$).

Picked it up when Green Man Gaming had the 22% off coupon which put it around 46$. It, well as Witcher 3 and Metal Gear should all be in contention for game of the year.

I've still only scratched the surface of Fallout New Vegas.

I'll probably like Fallout 4, since I adored Fallout 3.

I don't have as strong a connection with Boston as I do with D.C., but running around in Cambridge is a lot more meaningful to me than running around in Vegas.

I'm probably a year or so from finishing FNV, by which time Fallout 4's DLC will all be out, and I should be able to pick it all up on sale.

My big problem right now is figuring out where I'm going to find the time to play the games that I own, and where I'm going to find the time to mod the games that I care about and that also need modding. 

Money is scarce, but time is even scarcer.

I think Phillippe defined why I cannot get into New Vegas but also loved Fallout 3...setting. I have no connection to Vegas in real life but have had family and friends in DC and Boston for 25 years. It all makes sense now.

I somehow missed all the pre-release sales though...I'm not paying 60.00 either. Will wait for the Xmas sale and then dive into Fallout 4 and Mad Max during Xmas vacation.

Only thing better than running around post-apocalypse Boston will be running around post-apocalypse New York. Hopefully that will be Fallout 5.

Also eagerly awaiting the successor to Skyrim...it's been 4 years since that release incredibly.

Fallout 4 is by far my most anticipated game of this year. I didn't really get into Fallout 3, but I loved FNV. I fell in love with FO4 as soon as I saw the new weapon and power armor crafting system.

I really wanted a working pip boy so I bought two copies of the the collectors edition. One to play and one to go on my game shelf.

Unfortunately Blizzard decided Tuesday would also be a good day to release Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void so I'm going to have to figure out if my PC has enough power to play Fallout 4 on one monitor and SC2 on the other.

Does anyone know if Fallout 4 uses the same engine as the previous ones?

I suspect that's the case (as with Skyrim).

Definitely getting Fallout 4 next week.  Since I'm from the Boston area the decision to get this game is a no brainer for me.  But first I will be picking up my copy of COD BlOps3 this Friday.

Unfortunately, Fallout 4 is going to be beyond the means of my ancient rig, so even if I wanted it I couldn't get it. That's okay as I have more than enough to keep me busy until this PC decides to give up the ghost.

I enjoyed Fallout 3 a lot...I grew up near the area, at least until 5th grade or so, but we visited numerous times for the next many years. I'd never been to Vegas when I picked up that particular Fallout, but New Vegas is just as engaging. The struggle between the NCR and the Legion is pretty fantastic, and the fact that you can choose to side with either, or Vegas, or none of them, is even better.

Even if I had a rig that could handle Fallout 4, I'm with some of you in that I'd never pay full price for it. It'll be on super sale in a year or so, and I have lots of stuff to keep me entertained until that happens.

Some of us never buy anything until it has been out for a year and the price is down.

I have confidence that all of the regulars here have enough games to keep us entertained for the rest of our lives without another purchase.

But so, so many of us break down and buy new games within a week or two of release.
