Sir Slash

"Take a look at that". Sgt. Wilkerson-- CMBN. His last words after spotting a German tank on the other side of a hedgerow.

Turns out he invented his own gas mask so he could use it and still keep his beard.

Hopefully he has some decent policy ideas.  Couldn't find anything about his platform stances on his webpage.

Wow. Just the opposite of an infamous Austrian painter.

An actual soldier as defense minister? Total insanity.

BTW that guy looks totally badass and ready to f some stuff up.

Look up Sam Hughes or Andy McNaughton and then extoll to me how great a defence minister who served in the military "just has" to be.

On a related note, the list of Victoria Cross recipients who led uncertain and unproductive lives after being rewarded for unthinkable military bravery is, sadly, long.

I have no reason to think our new MND will fall in the same category - but like the rest of the new government, he hasn't yet had a chance to do anything yet in their new position, either. I hope he has good luck - better than some of the other soldiers before him. Paul Hellyer comes to mind.

Meds will help.  BTW, for those who don't know, Paul Hellyer is a loon!

Any time is a good time for pie.

I'm not even talking about that. I'm talking about the way he trashed the military by combining them into the Canadian Armed Forces, based apparently on his dislike for the way his own military service panned out. Integration wasn't a bad idea - but Unification is something the three branches of the military are still recovering from fifty years later.

He is proof that just because someone served in the military, they are not somehow automatically imbued with the wisdom to run one.

^Yeah except the first part of what you posted is clearly untrue going by your last three posts. A "conversation" goes in multiple directions Michael Dorosh, not just the way you want it to go.

Ok, first I winced.  Then I shuddered, and not in a good way.  :(
