Does anyone play this solo? If so how does it play? Still fun?

I've managed to get my self a copy and it's on it's way. I do like the look of the Stalingrad expansion..though I see it needs the Med game.

Also does it feel different to other squad based games? Or similar to others like LnL and CoH? I'm hoping it play abit differently to those games.

I've played it a few times F2F recently with a buddy, and we're now playing it (the base game) on Vassal.

Due to the way the card system works, I don't think it would be the greatest game for solo play as not knowing what cards the other player holds in a big part of the game.

Solo in this game is for larnin'.

The cards, unless you're really good at splitting your head in two (which I am assuredly not), really make solo play nigh-impossible.

Bawb hints at the right answer, though, there's plenty of folks that play this via Vassal over at BGG and the like.

I play this solo all the time. It works fine, as long as you're honest (i.e. not holding back that op-fire card when you REALLY want that squad to make it into the woods, or holding onto the "ambush" card if possible, just in case). Obviously it doesn't have the same tension as when you're playing against someone else, but it's perfectly doable and quite enjoyable.

In terms of feel, it's a lot more chaotic than any other tactical game I've played, and more frustrating at times. The "national" decks are a nice way of building the differences between armies in terms of doctrine, morale, training, etc. into the game. Playing the Italians thus feels very different from playing the Germans.
