Winter on Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom

Just finished watching Winter on Fire, a documentary on the Ukrainian Maidan protests 2013-14, on Netflix and it is a great documentary.

The last few minutes of it try to strike too much of a Hollywood happy ending and only briefly mention the resulting Russian attacks after the Maidan protests, but rarely has a film of any type struck such a chord with me. Watching how genuine, responsible and brave the people in this documentary were, and how vile the Ukrainian security forces were to their own people, it makes me wonder about human nature and gives me hope at the same time.

It's a good Doc.

Really needed a follow-up, though, as you mentioned. 

I felt like it cut off right after the opening events of the ongoing conflict.


I think Netflix also currently has another of the great full length docs about murderous civilian rampage, Nanking.

There are one or two Reuters docs I have seen on the ongoing war in eastern Ukraine, but nothing recently. Would love a good in depth doc on that.
