featuring burly Teutons waving their spears and magic helmets.

Were magic "helmets" even available for putting on your spear back then?

FYI, the magic helmet would have been known in the Norse Lore as the 'Helm of Awe'.  ;)

Gus, I'm sending a PM.

I guess you've not received it yet?  Gonna get that fixed now as CS replied yesterday.

Gusington

Got it, and I responded back to you Nef.

I just created the proper file structure so I could activate/deactivate it with JSGME.  Never know when I may need to go back to vanilla ( if that patch ever shows up in the future).

Using a mod enabler for games with these limited Online Activations is almost a must these days.   When you have to install & uninstall a few extra times, it only gives Murphy more of a chance to burn one of your activations, and if it happens enough in a short period you could end up with a big headache on your hands.

IIRC, I've had one de-activation not actually deactivate when I uninstalled one of these games before - I suppose because the 'activation server' or it's bandwidth was too busy and mine got lost on the way there.  Oddly enough the Starforce online activation setup is less a pain in the ass as the others since it's supposed to regenerate one of your allowed installs every month or so.   So, in this case, you probably don't need to worry about adjusting it for JSGME.

^Hey my copy has appeared, thanks again.

Should I try a vanilla campaign or go straight for the mod?

I don't think it matters, as long as you actually play it!

^Well now that's just crazytalk. I have been doing well with playing what I have been buying lately though.

Try a vanilla campaign is always my recommendation.   You will likely have to start from the beginning at least one extra time because your early game decisions are tough and cripple your army.   So you'll likely decide to give it a fresh start once you've learned enough about it - that is probably they time you wanna check out the mod and it's myriad fixes.

Just make sure you're patched up-to-date first!

Depending from the version Steam yes, the others not. Verify if your version is already updated to 225.
