Jason's made this thread all confused!  Are you asking about Factorio or FortressCraft?

If the former...it can be fast, yeah, but you're not hit in the face with it.  The tutorial isn't dangerous and gives you plenty of time to learn the ropes in relative safety.  Then you can start a sandbox game with peaceful enemies to learn further, if you like.  Once you know what you're doing it can actually seem slow when you're waiting for stuff to be produced!

Mankind is really the destroyer of worlds.

You are alone in an unknown planet.  You create machines to sustain your life.  But you end up being greedy and create a factory.  Who will buy your goods?
You export them to another planet?  Do you have to make a space ship first?  So you have the whole planet for yourself to exploit and kill.

The BORG had to start somewhere. Why not there?

Can you be more specific?  The different components of a belt will just link automatically when placed in a line, and if you rotate the piece you're placing the belt will automatically turn through 90 degrees.  If you mean linking it to a factory, you need to use an inserter; have the inserter at the end of the belt (or adjacent to it) and the inserter will automatically grab items off the belt and feed them into the factory.

It is truly impressive, but I think there's definitely room for FortCraft.

(Which came first. But even FC's dev is a fan of Factorio.  O:-) )
