I'm looking at you JH  :P

Just looking for impressions at the moment. Mixed reviews on Steam but the very first one I read with a thumbs down said "Only one mission"...I was like, well don't buy the intro pack...that is the intro pack isn't it? (and is that not paying £10 for a demo? - Just saying  :buck2: )

So I'm not sure I can't put much weight on them if that was the first one I saw.

I haven't really dug into it yet. I came away from the beta with mixed impressions. Some good, some bad. I thought some of the animations were weak, and the AI in some instances was too easily exploited. I've heard these problems remain in the retail build, but that the huge maps, large number of NPCs populating the world and shear diversity of options available for completing contracts makes it a compelling experience.

The game is going to be released in episodes, with each episode only containing one location. In this first episode, you get all of Paris, and I hear it is absolutely huge.  You can buy each episode separately, or pay one fee for access to them all as they are released throughout the course of the year.

Thank you.

I suppose I should play more of the previous title I bought some time ago...but I'm like a magpie with new games  :'(

JudgeDredd

Well...I haven't bought it yet, have I.

Besides, I think it's more changed colour temporarily than turned a new leaf.

As the wife - she knows.

I am enjoying The Division so far though - so it's unlikely I'll pick it up just yet and with me, the more games slip into the past, the more they're likely to stay there.

Hitman - what's it like?

...i dont want to speak about the past  :P

It's two a.m., the fear has gone
I'm sittin' here waitin', the gun still warm
Maybe my connection is tired of takin' chances
Yeah there's a storm on the loose, sirens in my head
I'm wrapped up in silence, all circuits are dead
I cannot decode, my whole life spins into a frenzy
Help I'm steppin' into the twilight zone
The place is a madhouse, feels like being cloned
My beacon's been moved under moon and star
Where am I to go, now that I've gone too far
Soon you will come to know,
When the bullet hits the bone
Soon you will come to know, when the bullet hits the bone
  ;)

No no no! You clearly misunderstood the man. He distinctly said he was "turning over a new BEEF". Not, leaf...

Started playing the release build last night and it felt quite a bit more polished than the beta. I sort of whipped through the tutorial missions and am just at the point where I'm going to be starting contracts in Paris. I'll probably play some more tonight, time permitting.

Did you buy the all or one option?

When you say you're starting missions in Paris, so do I gather these "regions" you can buy individually have multiple missions in them? And it's £11 for the Paris entry.

I'm not overly against that business model if that's what it is and what you get for £11 is worthy of £11. Means I can buy the entry level, play it, see how it fits, see if I'm still interested after that first week (the decider for most games for me) and if I want to buy more (though I guess there is the danger I'll forget I didn't like it and buy the next one)

Played some more of this last night.

I completed one contract that seemed to be sort of a "side mission" and then I began the main story mission to assassinate some wealthy spy an his wife, who is a former member of Mossad, herself.

The AI is still quirky in terms of what does and does not set them off and how easily they can be exploited....BUT, the map is really impressive so far. There are NPCs everywhere and the detail on the screen is wild. I managed to infiltrate this mansion and some of the details in the rooms are breathtaking. For instance, I entered a room that was used for painting art, etc. and the screen was just alive with details...different kinds of brushes and tools everywhere, art supplies scattered around the room and all over the table. It really looked like someone had been in there for long hours painting away. Very impressive stuff visually.

It still remains to be seen how the gameplay will hold up though.
