Digital War in Planetside 2

This is the kind of large scale multi-player FPS I'd be into. 

But the screenshots always dissuaded me, with their bright neon colors all over the place.     Disco style.

SDR - the trick, in my limited and newbie experience, is to attach yourself to another team and help out.  My best experiences in it (limited though they are) came from playing as a medic and tagging along healing another unit, shooting as I was able - made me useful, so I soon got invited into their squad/platoon structure and was part of the team for the rest of my time that day.

It really doesn't shine for lone wolves.

This is the key to Planetside 2.  Join a squad or larger unit.  A good team can be a lot of fun has you work together to take objectives.

You get de-sensitized to it quite quickly - don't let that stuff put you off.
