I was going to ask about playing a boardgame on Vassal...get me up to speed with the rules.

In sorting out "my room", I found I had LnL Vietnam and a Combat Commander game I purchased off eBay (or BGG). I've also got Band of Heroes I would like to get back to.

It just got me in the mood.

However, on starting the post (and accidentally posting before finishing) I realised I might not have much time to take part because I have my Su-27 to build.

But............I could scrape a night or two I would imagine

^ and got me! Bob looked back, but realises I'm fine....before mirth could sink his venomous fangs in, my kilt flew up and he grabbed a sight of something no other man should have...and he scarpered off...tail between his legs!!

We're 300 miles away which, in the UK, translates to 5 hours travelling (on a good day!)

I have the following

• Conflict of Heroes
• LnL World at War:Blood and Bridges
• LnL Band of Heroes
• LnL Forgotten Heroes:Vietnam
• RAF Battle of Britain
• Combat Commander:Europe

Those are the board games I have and about half a dozen single player (DVG) games.

I have given Combat Commander a wee go and really enjoyed it and would like to do it again.

I'm really sorry, but I can't recall who helped me before....someone on these boards took the time out to play Vassal with me for Band of Heroes and it really helped me. But as with all things in real life, I got distracted and didn't keep it up, making the rules require a re-read and confusion ensuing (LnL imo is do not have the easiest rules to follow).

Oh - and I forgot, I just bought LnL Heroes of the Falklands

I've got all the CoH games, so no worries there. I don't have CC, but have played it in Vassal with a pal who has the game.

I've only got the first CoH game - and I did go through the rules so I am somewhat familiar with them. So we could use that as one. I never did progress to armour, so we could start off with the initial "infantry only" missions.

What other games have you got? I prefer the LnL small scale (platoon?? or company) size games rather than grand strategy or regiment/battalion scale.

I'm happy with CoH and I've played it a lot, so the rules are very familiar to me.

Band of brothers - Screaming Eagle, and BoB Ghost Panzer - really good games if you like squad level.

White Star Rising / Cobra / Desert Heat. All LnL 'Nation at War' system and based on the WaW system with which you are familiar.

La Bataille de France 1940 - platoon level.

The other stuff I have is operational - Normandy '44 and Bitter Woods, although you can get Vassal mods, you really need to be up on the rules.

I haven't forgotten about you.

I've downloaded the Vassal module and expansions (though I need to figure out how to load them) and I'll dig out my box so I can get to the rule set.

However, I'm under the cosh for time at the minute as I have a considerable amount of building to do on my Su-27 model - so I'm out for at least the next week.

But I'll pm you when I'm able to start  O0

No worries mate. Just as and when - I must admit, I'm having a bit of an issue with the Vassal mod as well. I'm going to delete it and try again - I can't get any maps to display.

Which module are you guys using? Are you playing LnL? If so, and you are playing in Normandy use the most recent module here:
