I really want to do some modern gaming, but damn I just don't know what to play, nor what I have the brain power to fuel tonight.  Like, I have a number of modern warfarey-type games, but all are either in various stages of patching, or I'm just no good at them. 

I fear I'm about to just boot up Crusader Kings 2, because I know how to play it, and it's easy in the sense it will play itself, even if you don't do anything.  I just can't generate any energy tonight.  I haven't played hardly anything in about 6 weeks, and I really would like to spend some time gaming rather than reading for a change.

Whelp, I don't know if I've ever finished a game of Crusader Kings 2, but I did tonight.

Man alive, what a mess.  I picked a duke in Wales with the 1066 start.  It looked like a not too difficult proposition to unite Wales under my rule, but I made a huge mistake right off the bat.  I pressed a claim to the rest of Wales thinking it was for me, but it was for one of my Barons.  I won the war, but this gave the Baron a claim on the rest of Wales and it was just never ending wars after that.

I had something like 6 daughters and 1 son.  I think he might have been the most mentally challenged character I've seen in CK2.  Long story short, when I died I took over as this kid and he was basically 0-2 in everything but intrigue, which was 5.  Just horrible scores.  His betrothed (Norway) dumps him, England shortly thereafter declares war on me (can't really blame him) and that was the end of the game with no heir.

So, wow.  That kind of sucked.

Happy Birthday Mike! Going to hit 52 in about a month, and I have to say that so far the 50s are my favorite decade. My 20s were a lot of fun, but mixed with healthy doses of both poor and stupid. By 50 I've managed to get over the "poor" part at least...

I'm still more heavily drawn to boardgaming than computer gaming, so it'll probably be punching and playing Texas Arrows, running through the BAR Primer, and maybe taking a crack at Won By the Sword not that I have the fix pack. That sounds more ambitious than I will probably feel tomorrow, but we'll see.

There's also my standing PBEM games with Boggit, Cyrano, and Bob, along with some solo play in Pike & Shot. I've gone from somewhat lukewarm on that game to really enjoying it, despite some shortcomings, and mostly due to the excellent quality of the user contributed scenarios. Working through a bunch of 9 Years War stuff right now, and a cool Blenheim scenario.

Had some dental work this week and I'm well supplied with hydrocodone. Should make for some interesting generalship.

I am playing Hegemony III: Clash of the Ancients, they just released a huge update that changed the game drastically, anyone has the game should try it, the game is much more enjoyable now, oh and they will announce new DLC soon.

Happy Bday BBMike!!!!

Last Friday for my job, (Still have to do Monday and Tuesday, but don't think I'll be putting much sweat into it). Of course played World of Warships last night.. May look for something different to wet the palette today, maybe Ale Jacta Est. I've been eyeing it on the (steam) shelf, cause I enjoyed it before. Much easier to get into quickly as opposed to something with a heck of a lot more units like CW II.

Tried Steam FSX and it was very frustrating, lots of crashes.. Really kind of depressing all the money sunk into it years before, and now really don't want to bother due to the stoppages in play.


Also thinking of reinstalling CM on the new build, due to the Final Blitzkrieg review getting me in the mood.
