Since I own nearly everything contained in Panzer Corps - Gold Edition, I won't be purchasing it unless they discount it for each of its DLC I already own.

Posted a couple of posts up...you can do it for the steam version but not the matrix version (although I believe you can get a steam key if you want)

Guys, you can buy it on Steam as a "Complete your set" bundle - that way if you already own the base game plus any DLC you will only buy the DLCs you're missing at a greatly reduced price while still getting a 43% discount on everything.

http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/1580/ You need to be logged in on Steam for it to work, obviously :)

I own the retail boxed version and I don't play it on Steam.
Regardless of how good a PC game may be it will always have its detractors and no matter how bad a PC game may be it will always have its fans.

Then you would be out of luck if you don't want to play on steam:)

One of the things I love about Slitherine is that they give you a Steam key when you buy a game through their website.

I think you can register your (boxed) serial on the Slitherine site then retrieve a Steam key.

That's the point. I do not want to register it on Steam. The only games I play on Steam are those that can only be played Steam. I really, really dislike monopolies and that is what Steam is getting close to being.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but why do you think Steam is becoming a Monopoly?  They aren't the creators/publishers of the games, they simply are the distribution platform for games.  Its just like having a Windows PC and largely the main Operating System for the platform is Windows (not the actual software you use, but the platform that allows all things to work) and most people use it with little choice.

Again, nothing wrong with your decision and its yours to make, but just curious since I haven't heard that reason before...I have heard others such as people don't like the platform, concerned with mostly being online, etc.

@Grim.Reaper

How many new games by 2K, Bethesda,  Paradox (and I don't know offhand how many by other PC game companies) can be activated or run without Steam being installed? That should explain my concern.

But I don't want to derail this thread nor begin a debate about Steam. So that's all I am going to say.
