It's not at all a big collection, but I thought I'd share a picture of my collection of boardgames - all of which, I think, are very good.

Whilst there are 2 there that I haven't played yet (Heroes of the Falklands and Lock n Load Vietnam), I enjoy each of them. Some more than others. RAF is a fantastic game with very easy rules whilst Band of Heroes games are good but with (imo) some convoluted rules. Phantom Leader is another excellent, easy to learn and play game though it's difficult to run with some die rolls  :coolsmiley:

Do you have much chance to play them with others?  I find that the biggest impediment for me and my collection is drumming up an opponent.

My particular interest is WWII air combat with a specific focus on RAF Bomber Command.  It's ridiculously niche and, while I have a few games that focus on this, it's brutally hard getting others to try the games I have.  Any time I can get someone to play Bomber Command with me is like Christmas.  I freaking love that game!

At any rate, here's my collection.

I thought "wow" and then I saw there was a page 2!!  :o

The RAF game (at least the one I have) is very solitaire friendly...in fact, may well have been designed specifically with solitaire in mind

Yes, it was originally designed for solitaire.

IIRC they only added the 2-player variant in the new version.

That's why about half, or more, of my boardgames have full solitaire capability.

Not only can it take forever to find an opponent and get a game scheduled, it can also be a problem finishing the large ones.  Probably have much more luck doing it online via Vassal than face-to-face.

So there is a large percentage of co-operative/solitaire games in my collection, with many different themes, for when I need instant cardboard gratification.  They get FAR more use than the others.  Some people even want to do co-op on occasion, anyway.

There's a solitaire Falklands game I want to add - Where There Is Discord - but it's bloody expensive when finding a second hand one and it's out of print.

I know. It's on my list of games to own, but I'm not prepared to drop $150+ on it.

See if you can get a cheap copy of Patton's Best; bet you'd enjoy that one.  The rules are fairly simple and it's a good "story builder" type of game.  If you're a fan of WWII PTO, Carrier is tops (IMO) as far as solitaire games go but it takes a big investment in time learning it.  The good thing however is that it is "programmed instruction" so you read a few pages of rules and then play the scenario associated with what you just learned and build upon that until you get to the full enchilada.  It's a very tense game- really fun!

I've been tempted to pick up Carrier for a while now.

There's only a page 2 because 90% of my collection consists of miniatures or card packs.

I kick started DVG's B-17 Flying Fortress Leader.  It'll be my first DVG "Leader" game.  Looking forward to getting my mitts on it.

Good taste in games, collection might be small but all very good.

I'm just going to assume you place chess and not checkers on that fine board.
