+1 I hope everything comes out all right. Get well soon.
Regardless of how good a PC game may be it will always have its detractors and no matter how bad a PC game may be it will always have its fans.

Prayers for everyone to have strength, skill, and patience in SDR's surgery.

This weekend: puppy-sitting for Bro's family. The creature is made of bricks and loves to systematically shred all things including humans. Not in a hateful way, but still. Electronic shriek buttons? She shows slight curiosity sometimes. Hiss-cans? Upgraded to slight interest sometimes. Toothy choke collars? An inconvenience to be waved off. {shudder} Dogs.

Also this weekend: THE PROMISED TIME HAS COME (maybe, travel weather permitting)! 2 hours south, Shin Godzilla in a theater  :smitten: , 2 hours back.

Not sure what gaming yet. Almost certainly more Magic Duels having not gotten tired of deckbuilding/testing yet. Riding along with my French Marshals against other Groggies in Cyrano's forum game -- mainly my work is done, and it's all about the newspapers henceforth.  :)) Been playing Arkham Origins again, on the PC for the first time, as an excuse not to play Alien: Isolation for Halloween. Want to get into Wargame: Airland Battle, maybe also Red Dragon.
ICEBREAKER THESIS CHRONOLOGY! -- Victor Suvorov's Stalin Grand Strategy theory, in lots and lots of chronological order...
Dawn of Armageddon -- narrative AAR for Dawn of War: Soulstorm: Ultimate Apocalypse
Survive Harder! -- Two season narrative AAR, an Amazon Blood Bowl career.
PanzOrc Corpz Generals -- Fantasy Wars narrative AAR, half a combined campaign.
Khazâd du-bekâr! -- narrative dwarf AAR for LotR BfME2 RotWK campaign.
RobO Q Campaign Generator -- archived classic CMBB/CMAK tool!

^  What JudgeDredd said.  Hope everything turns out okay, SDR.

I have a three-day weekend starting after I work tonight, so I'll actually have time to play some games for once!  8)  For my space 4x needs, I've been playing a fair bit of Stardrive 2 (with the Sector Zero DLC) lately; however, the Distant Worlds 2 thread now has me jonesing for some DW action, so will probably be firing that up sometime tomorrow instead.  And with my currently reading Bernard Cornwell's excellent Saxon Tales books, am also feeling the pull of Attila Tota War and trying the Mercians again in the Charlemagne DLC.

Another beta weekend with Stars in Shadow, and, if the new build makes it out today, Afghanistan '11.  Also some 1775:Rebellion.  I've also been on the verge of pressing the button to get Knights of Honor again, but on Steam.

But mostly it will be Fighting the urge to pre-order Civ VI :)

Knights of Honor is a real gem. I have gone back to this game many times. I may just do so again. The trick is to get 3 merchants, and make trade agreements with the three largest countries you can find, that are not in your initial burst of conquests. This will gain you a tremendous amount of monies for expansions.

Ugh.  Working out of town this weekend and the Mrs. is tagging along, so I can kiss any gaming goodbye.

On the other hand, my World of Tanks career continues apace:  my average win rate creeps ever so closer to 51% and after starting the personal missions, I've managed to cruise through 7 out of the 15 Medium tank specific ones without breaking a sweat (mediums are my thing, apparently) which is nice as I'm going to have to re-buy the Stuart so I can get to the damn Chaffee, buy the T20, and finish wringing out the tank just prior to the Panther - daddy needs credits, badly.

Damn have I played this game a lot! I stopped a couple of years ago, with over 10k games played.

My favorite are the mid-tier tank destroyers. It seems unfair...hide, with 100% camo, and crew at 100% camo, and let them come to you. My win rate for several of these is between 55 and 64%. One person CAN make a difference..as I average about 2.5 kills per battle, for my best vehicle.

...I'm not saying that I am a great player...but I will get the first shot in, or even the first two, then retreat to my secondary firing position. Rinse and repeat.

DennisS

Battles of Norghan for sure, probably some Thunderbolt/Apache Leader, and I may well take tgb up on Knights of Honor.

Huh...I have no idea. It used to be a quote from Thomas Jefferson. Wouldn't let me access either. I'll change it

This Endless Legend you all keep mentioning looks pretty nice! Never been drawn to this kind of games, but it sure does look purdy!
