What do the little symbols next to the three armor types represent?

I'm guessing the first is what it's best against, and the second symbol, showing the blood drops between weapon & armor symbol, means it is weak against them?

For example, Cloth armor is best against Blunt weapons, but weak against whatever the second one represents (piercing iirc)?

I've unlocked other modes, but the first one is the most interesting since it's the PvP one where you command a squad.

Haven't paid much attention but I believe the ratings are for Blunt, Slash, Thrust attacks (not in correct order)
Weapons also have different effects depending on attack type.  So I pays to bring along different weapons for each situation but one must know what the enemy's armor is good at just by looking at it.  I have not gone far as to matching the weapon I wield to the opponent's armour.  :idiot2:

Here's an explanation in:
http://tk-en.oasgames.com/news/05202016/013441160.shtml

Command PVP is really the best mode.  Wait till you unlock the Siege PVP of the same category.  More teamwork required (but just one map for now).  Playing command mode lets you level up your squads and research new squads.  It is important because the weapons you wield are only unlocked when you research squads and upgrades.  I am a level 15 general but I only wield level 4 weapons.  There is also a balancing factor. For example you have level 4 weapons but take a level 2 squad to battle because you want to develop them, your weapons are downgraded to level 2.

Duel PVP (Team Deathmatch) give you exploit points which you don't get in command mode. Exploit points can research items not found in any squad.

PVE as mentioned before is a cinematic experience but gets stale very quickly for now. At the end of a match there's a lucky draw for goodies. You can get a rare horse or a rare weapon but these have timed use (can't keep in your inventory forever). Maybe forcing you to do PVE again to restock.

I currently have a 2-Handed Axe and Horse equipped.  Plus Mace & Shield for a defensive/dismounted option.

But one specific battle made me realize I need to put some time into one of the other Troop Nationalities, in order to unlock & equip a Bow.

Not only was an enemy player kiting me, while poorly firing his bow at me, but someone's friggin Adjutant was doing the same from horseback after mine had been killed.

That mounted NPC Adjutant was much more effective at grinding down my HP over time, in this way, and it was driving me mad.  I couldn't catch up to him while on foot.  If I had a bow, I could've ended him sooner, mounted or not.   :knuppel2:

Bows squads are cool too.  I just sat at the back while my guys took out the enemy NPC Marshal in their base.  Being hit by arrows causes stun effect so it slows the target down too. That is if they survive and you get decent help from other players.

I did jump nationalities too. My main faction is Wu... the burly melee sailors armed with swords and clubs / oars. But I had to level the Wei too to get some nice pikes for myself.  Pikes are good at taking pot shots outside a dense brawl of soldiers.

I thought about picking up a Pike, as a secondary, but I've had some success with 1-H Axe or Mace and Shield.  I somehow tend to get outnumbered on a regular basis.  So shield blocking, and faster close-in weapons, makes a good alternative.

I want to get a horse capable polearm / lance / spear.

You mean.. besides the basic Bamboo Spear?

That thing's too short and wimpy IMO.

Yes useless. At this stage I got that cheap Level 1 bamboo spear and farming spade that are horse capable.
The level 2 Long spears and pikes are foot only.  Not sure when I'll get those proper spear for horses.
Maybe by unlocking cavalry squads. :/

I have come across a few opponents with cavalry now based on my level but they're still light skirmisher types. I just use the horse for mobility.  I dismount when fighting.

I've been getting teamed with annoyingly incompetent bastards.  Being only five per side, it's a more marked distinction than in something like WoWS/WT.

I move up.  Spot the enemy.  Make sure some of my teammates are next to me, also pushing forward.

But when I get into the thick of it with the opposing force, one or two nearby teammates inevitably turn and run back to our own spawn camp after seeing the enemy.  Leaving me there to get surrounded and trampled in a 2-to-1, or higher, situation.  Then they just sit back in our own corner and camp until the enemy side has overwhelmed the few of us out there fighting and comes to clean them up, piecemeal, too.  ::)

Also encountered an AFK Bot player that didn't even leave the spawn the whole game. *sigh*

I rage quit after this camping happened three games in a row.  Lost every one due to someone fleeing at first contact.  Mixed with ~5 minute matchmaker wait times, my gaming session was cut short by choice.  :knuppel2:

Pretty much what happens to me in every sort of WoT game I play.
I even rage quitted Armored Warfare after it started happening a lot in it (which, coincidentally, started when the game became full F2P instead of B2P).

The ping was so bad when I played this that it was unplayable for me. That and the jinglish explanations on everything made it hard to get into.
I will give it another go when the romans come. But it seems far too reliant on heros. It's like watching an asian crouching tiger and hidden dragon style war movie... hell it might even be based on that new
jacky chan movie about the chinese co-operating with some lost legionaries against the roman empire.

OMG I can't un-see that.

Roman soldiers without scutum.   #:-)  Jon Cusack attempting to act like a Roman officer.   :hide:

Destraex

Haha! It really is bad is it not. The armour looks like plastic stuff you would get from K-Mart or Walmart.
But the idea is an interesting one, if indeed somebody did it properly it would be very nice... perhaps in a beefed up total war game for instance.

Jomni. How do I get a Roman commander ? Get rid of my current commander and start from scratch?
