I often play these - and similar - in background when I'm gaming with some great guitar... enjoy... :bd:

The most shocking fact about war is that its victims and its instruments are individual human beings, and that these individual beings are condemned by the monstrous conventions of politics to murder or be murdered in quarrels not their own. Aldous Huxley

Foul Temptress! (Mirth replying to Gus) ;)

It's kind of silly to investigate whether or not a Clinton is lying. That's sort of like investigating why the sky is blue. Banzai_Cat

Starting my second game Civ6.  The first game was, surprisingly to me, my first Civ game among many, many games in all the different versions in which I did not ever go to war, winning on points.

My second game will not go that way.  I'm determined to be a first class warmonger from beginning to end.  I'm playing the Greeks and I've been to war twice so far in the early game.

Big hair bands you say?  How 'bout these guys?   :)

"You and I are of a kind. In a different reality, I could have called you friend."

Romulan Commander to Kirk

Beowulf

For me it will be more PBEMs.

I'm trying to recapture Greece as Populares in AJE, and trying to hold on till Sweden intervenes in TYW.

Some Legends of Eisenwald, if I still have free time.

The capitalization is has been very inconsistent. Sad really.

and yet remarkably consistent with the rest of the stuff we type

I think you need to play some Gears of War / Shadow Warrior 2 / Postal to wipe the stench of the last one off ;)

J/K - I wish I can find a game that interests my wife enough to play with me.
Insert witty comment here.

Wait, what??!!

I thought you were waiting until the holiday sale before picking it up.  What changed your mind?

Now, now.  Let's not criticize.  Especially if it ultimately helps in getting him laid.  8)

I'll be dungeon mastering the kids D&D 5e campaign for several hours this afternoon.

I might play some Combat Mission Afghanistan, if I can find the time.

Toonces

I have some free time today so I've been dusting off the flight sim library and seeing what works and what doesn't.

I installed Battle of Britain 2: Wings of Victory and managed to get the latest upgrade for it installed, 1.13 I think.  But I still get this weird tearing when I pan the view, and I can't find a v-sync setting which is what it really appears to need.  So just goofed off in that to ensure it will play, and the HOTAS works.

I've been flying some missions in WOFF, but still on the v.2.  I need to get many more hours out of it before I'm ready to shell another $50 to get the latest upgrade.

I have a desire to do some MP flying, so I downloaded the latest Team Fusion mod for IL-2: Cliffs of Dover, which I've owned for a while but have never played.  I may start working on that later and if I can figure it out, hook up on the ATAG server for some dogfighting.

Finally, I'm re-downloading Rise of Flight to see if there are still any dogfight servers running.  I might re-install DCS as well, but the idea of trying to configure that mess, not to mention figure out what to even install, has me hesitant to burn up too much playing time today.  I would like to get on a dogfight server with you guys, though.

Nice!

I keep intending to run a Star Wars RPG session, with the gamer nephews, but it's always so much easier to just set up a board- or minis-game instead.

The temptation for the easy power of the dark side is always present.  :-"

Bison

What Star Wars RPG system?  We play the FFG system, but frankly I find the deterministic dice rolls in a d20 system much easier to deal with as a gm.

With the DCS World client, it's just one install.  The modules you own are all contained within the single client.

The problem is that you'll have to bind your HOTAS/joystick keys for each aircraft model.  Although all the Flaming Cliffs 3 aircraft keybinds can be loaded into others, with only a few hotkey commands being different between them.

You gotta remember that each hardware column has to be saved as a separate file, however.  (one for stick, one for throttle, for example).

As for ROF dogfight servers.. I'm pretty sure the popular ones are still running.  I'm not sure which type you're referring to (Full Realism or those with nametags enabled & such) but player population has always been steady, even if rather low at times.

There's usually a rise in server population during & after a ROF sale, for obvious reasons.  But I think many who've enjoyed it come to revisit regularly.
