Constant large game updates aren't solely an issue with GOG.

I've had some Steam games regularly getting 400+ MB updates, when they are installed.  I think some of the developers just drop whole data folders in for updates, instead of the few individual files that were changed.  Sizable chunks of the install footprint.

When I see that repeatedly happening, I end up uninstalling the the game in question, if I'm not playing it at the moment.  And I have no d/l limit.  Just annoying to have those long patches running every time I log on.

Yeah, effing Verdun seems to update almost daily yet nothing in the game seems to ever change.

Yeah I do this too. Company of Heroes 2 was for me the biggest offender. Seemed like it had multi-gig updates every other week, and the updates took *forever* to install after downloading for some reason. Eventually had to use the "Delete Local Content" option...

Oh, this is cute. Now I cannot log in to my account...sigh...
Same thing happened about a year or two ago, something borked on their end last time.

Working for me.

Wonder if it's a regional server thing.

I don't think this is a problem with the distributor but more with having a limited internet connection.

The future is going to digital downloads and hardly any hard copy.

I have had steam settings set to update automatically and they do, GOG on the other hand I have had no problems with but bought mostly old games except for Witcher 3.

I like not having to use discs and welcome the change to having my software available for download.

I have had to reinstall many times my game collections from steam, GOG, and greenman with no problems.

Battlefront is ok but requires a cdkey check and only allows up to 5 game installs if memory is correct.

Matrix is great as well for keeping track of your games and allowing downloads.

I am sorry that you feel the way you do but having a poor internet provider is not the fault of the distributor IMO.
