Holiday bonus has hit the bank so I will be spec'ing out my new PC to build during holiday.

Also will reward myself with a 12 yr Macallan single malt...also to keep me warm.

Beyond that...Heroes of the Storm, Path of Exile, and Witcher 3 along with anything else that may tickle my fancy.
Insert witty comment here.

JTS SB:WWI PBEM...hopefully...if we can get an annoying PBEM bug fixed...

I think I've FINALLY got the SoW:WL KS mod running properly (thanks, Asid) so I'd like to try that.

Depending on schedules, I may try and see if any of the GHs are actually on Steam when I manage to get on to play Deathwing.  Immense potential there.  Definite gift for my son for Xmas.  I almost feel guilty buying him a game "for him" knowing I'll expect him to partner up later the same day to go hammer some 'stealers.

How exactly does Vol de l'Aigle work?

I've always wanted to see a very multi-player game where you didn't know where your own troops were or what they were doing (let alone the enemy). FOW on all of your own troops, except the ones you could see from your saddle.

@Philippe:  It's played on a scale map taken from a slightly-after-period atlas that the game's author found.  Each player is a corps commander with one being designated C-in-C -- typically Napoleon and one of his adversaries (or two in the case of Austerlitz, Leipzig, &c.).

Units are drawn onto the map and expected to march at march rates and cover roughly-approximate march distance.  The smallest unit is the division.

The game being run here: http://grogheads.com/forums/index.php?board=56.0 (Six Days in October) is being managed via e-mail and is clipping along rather nicely.  Orders are issued via e-mail and players are on their honor to communicate only via dispatch unless they get close enough to one another to talk.

I'll let players comment re: what they think so far (some in the game had previous experience with the system), but, as always with KS, one of the greatest strengths is the brutal fog of war.  I've had more than one commander at a loss as to where a precious division or corps was and some further players wondering where the opponents they were chasing had gotten off to.

As the umpire, I always enjoy the pants of these things.  It's why I run them.

Best,

Jim

Eh. Space Hulk: Left 4 Dead isn't grabbing me as much as I thought it would. The game is clearly set up to run on a controller, but it refuses to detect the controller I got specifically for Windows long ago. And as others have noted, the game just really doesn't expect you to be giving orders to your bot-team, although I appreciate them being programmed well enough to take up position on an open door and guard a corridor as I go by. I'm not likely to end up spending a lot of time on mp, for various reasons, so... I wonder if it's too late for me to do a Steam refund.  :-\

Jim, with his wife's help, is doing a bang up job of running this game too.  :bd:

If you want to see a players perspective come and read my diary as one of the corps commanders...

I'm a WWII and newer wargamer so this Nappy FOW is really getting to me.  :pullhair:

Having accepted an offer on my restauarant I'll be beginning the rocky road of business selling and dealing with solicitors

In the gaps I'll be playing knights of honour and warhammer

it's been a blast running it but I genuinely thought running your own business would give you more free time not less and it's been a terrible burden trying to spend time with my daughter especially at weekends where retail equals peak profits but also peak daughter time

I think I'll go back into the herd - telecoms company are recruiting broadband engineers in the new year and network installation is my thing really

Although an old, good friend has asked if I'd like to come on board with a new venture - she's starting an escort agency and I have a few ideas

A more obvious choice is impossible.
