Mr Trash Wheel

Ok, this is really cool.  Since May 2014, it's kept over 1 million pounds of trash making it into the ocean.  The NatGeo link is very good and informative.

The is interesting installing these trash collectors in other US cities and other countries.  A second wheel was installed at the end of last year in Baltimore, and I think they want 2 more in Baltimore.  The word about it is starting to get out.  Hopefully in the next few years we'll see them start to spring up in other places.

it only skims the top surface, and the connected booms float on the surface as well. There is plenty of unobstructed water below
