Well, its not supposed to hit retail until Tuesday, 6/26, but I just spotted two copies on the shelf at a bestbuy in Jersey City, NJ. I had to seriously fight the compulsion to buy it as I already have it pre-ordered on steam, and I have the XBOX version too.

Anyway, I love it when a store slips up and starts selling early!

Thanks for asking, I didn't know offhand either.

Neither did I. Waiting to see what everyone's impression is.

I didn't know what GRFS stood for either.  :-\
Regardless of how good a PC game may be it will always have its detractors and no matter how bad a PC game may be it will always have its fans.

Sorry guys...I was on the road posting from my Blackberry, so I abbreviated.  :(

Anyway, the game rocks on consoles and I'm really looking forward to switching the experience over to PC!

Dude what are you doing in my neck of the woods?  There's only one in JC.   I was just at the other end of that shopping complex yesterday buying groceries.

LoL!  My girlfriend lives in Hoboken. We met some friends in Jersey City for brunch.  A nice little place on Mercer and Grove Street across from Town Hall.  I may have had the best french toast of my life there yesterday.

I always thought you were in Europe for some reason?

I was in the UK for awhile where I had little to do but either go to pubs or post on the web.    Posting on the web was usually a bit less destructive to my constitution.  :)   Have been back in the states for a couple years.  Lived in Hoboken briefly but for the most part have lived in JC.  I know Grove Street well, I used to walk down it everyday to go to the Path.   Now, I take the ferry into work.

If you want another good brunch place in JC, go to a place called Amelia's though sometimes they try to fancy the food up too much.  It's easy to get to from the light rail (stop on essex street).   A really good diner in JC is The Brownstone.  Massive amounts of food, tons of choices.  That would be a bit of a hike to walk, it's on Jersey and Grand though you could take the light rail to Jersey Ave.   Just have to arrive at that place by 9am or you may have to wait.

You might know this one already but a really good brunch place in Hoboken is called 10th and Willow.  Which is appropriately named because that's where it is.

Anyway, sorry for derailing the topic!  Enjoy GRFS!

Two things

Wasn't Hoboken in the Mafia game (the first very, very excellent one?)

and

Ghost Recon Future Soldier - please please tell me the AI team mates are superior to the ones on Ghost Recon Advanced Warrior (1 and 2). I reloaded them on Steam after having bought them some time ago and realised why I had left them. Your soldier pals are useless and I end up just leaving them behind or sending them ahead to scout out positions (cannon fodder!) - they really are bad.

So - please tell me the latest iteration has troops that fight back and take appropriate cover

Oh - and I have it on pre-order too thanks to JH and UCG.

^Its quite possible.  Hoboken was also featured in Max Payne.  Contrary to its portrayal in games, it is a remarkably "hip" little place right on the Hudson with a spectacular view of the City...

The AI squad mates in GRFS are competent and believable.  They have never blown a mission or frustrated me in any way and when used properly, they are lethal killers.

That is great to hear. The last iteration of this franchise is really frustrating me.
