Looks like i'm going to keep the Forest and not refund it. 2 hours isn't really enough time for a survival game, but i like what i see so far. Had to restart already because i thought it auto saved on exit, no you have to have a structure up to save the game. Built a hunters lean to thingy the first night, built a tree house for the second night with rope climbing access. The crafting system is pretty straight forward.Works off a plans system, pick a plan, place and get the required resources to fulfill the plan. The rest of the crafting is the usual combine items stuff. In the hour and half i've played its run fine with no fps drops or bugs that i've noticed so far, i have the settings pretty maxed out. There seems to be a stealth system but haven't tested it yet by hiding from the bad guys. I'm running out of food and water so i will have to go foraging. I've seen deer, rabbits and lizards so far, need to find fresh water and make something to carry it in. You'd think you could be lucky enough to crash on an island with friendly cannibals...."come on over we're having a barbecue" ....no, they have to be A**Holes.

You reminded me of a key point....the steam refund.  I am on the fence with a couple, probably no risk giving them a try for a couple of hours....probably will be Syrian Warfare and Friday the 13th (I know not everyone's cup of tea, but they recently added a bot single player mode that entices me---this horror series was my favorite as I grew up).

I'm interested if there's bots, let me know what you think of the bot play.

I'm kind of digging the Forest so far, about to go hunt some cannibal scum with my spear. They seem to move in groups though, hoping to catch one on there own. The spear has been a one shot kill with the animals so far, no crosshairs, its taking some getting used to. Bagged 2 deer, 3 lizards, and one rabbit with the spear so far....o and a couple of turtles but they ain't exactly fast. Been scouting the cannibal scum's camp testing the stealth, sticking to the shadows has worked so far.

Is it fun to play only with bots?
(Cause I'm not into playing with a bunch of random idiots from the internet)

Haven't bought Friday the 13th yet, but plan on doing so later tonight if everything goes as planned.  From what I understand in bot mode, you will only have the option playing as Jason, not the counselors.  So basically you get to play out your dream of hunting down all those poor people, which is what I would prefer anyway:)  If you want to play a victim, you'll need to do that online.  Looking at the forums you'll see the normal feedback...some people like it, some people don't.  If I am not mistaken, think I have seen them hint this is the only first step in single player features that more is to come....but I could be wrong about that.

picked up conquest of elysium 4. thought about some dlc for ck2 and eu4 but didnt pull the trigger! also picked up the operational art of war IV using my 11 year coupon. 38%off i believe.

was looking at decisive campaigns barbarossa and have a question for the guys that have played it. i might not ever play the thing through once but how is replayability? do you always get the same choices at certain points or dates? and can you game the system by making the "correct" choice if there is such a thing? thanks for any replies, answers, etc...

I think it's very replayable. Some of the decision points are set as to when they show up others may or may not show up based on what is happening in the campaign and how you are doing. At each decision point the choice will be the same but again what you choose may not be the same each time based on what is happening in the field. I don't think there is a way to game the system, there are just so many combinations that it would take hundreds of play throughs to find an optimal path.
Also playing the Germans is very different from play as the Russians. Their decision structures are completely different and very focused on their particular part of the war.
It truly is a great achievement in wargaming.

All sales are fixed.
Steam quit the flash/daily sales years ago.

I have $0.20 in my Steam account. My survey cash goes to Amazon cards, though Steam is one of the many options. I'd rather get board games.

If I don't have a Steam card it's not the end of the world. :)
