Summer has finally started in the UK - its a perfect excuse for drawing the blinds and staying inside!

I hope to be doing a lot of CK2-ing and writing the AAR, getting my teeth into NWAC - it has its flaws but does what it says on the tin, and CMBN PBEM-ing

I have invaded the Balkans as the Ottomans in my Empire Total War campaign and will take all of the Serbs Crabbies alcoholic ginger ale in the process.

Probably going to try and play some of The Walking Dead, Civ V and hopefully get in some Warlock multiplayer with some of the other guys around here.

I leave this weekend for a full week of Army annual training. So absolutely no gaming for me. :'(

I am not looking forward to living in open-bay style barracks for the next week. I'm not a young kid anymore.

Try and finish my Chinese CiV game. Using a mod with gigantic world map with historical locations and it's taxing my system...

Try out the Arma II Combo I just bought to see how bad I am.

MP game of Warlock Sat. night.

Maybe get a new board game since my wife is out of town for the week....

I'm hoping to finish up the story in Mass Effect 3 this weekend, then move on to popping a few multiplayer cheevos.

After or in between times, I'm gonna play Pocket Planes on my iPag and get some Battlefield Heroes time in on my PC.

What is Pocket Planes? Seen lots of raves about it... Is it really good?

^Pocket Planes is totally addicting. You are the manager of a small airline and start out with a couple of puddle jumpers. You pick you starting airport from the plenty of real world cities given to you in the game.

The goal of the game is to generate revenue by shuttling little passengers and cargo back and forth between cities. As you make money and level up you get access to better planes and better routes with which to make more money with. They've got two kinds of currency in the game: Coins, which are free and earned by your routes, and Bux, which you can either buy for real money, or if you're smart and patient can earn in game for free, albeit at a slow pace.

Coins are used to purchase city airports, advertise your airline at specific cities, pay for fuel during flights (supply is abstracted), and upgrade your airports or buy new airplane slots.

Bux are used to either purchase new planes, or parts and then assemble the parts into a plane.

I started out in Boston and shuttled people and cargo back and forth to Montreal, Ottawa, and Minneapolis for the first week I played. Soon after I bought Philadelphia, Detroit, Dallas, Phoenix, and New York and I'm starting to pull in 28k coins a day, which is not too shabby given my low level.

My next goal is to buy London, so I can try some real money making transatlantic flights.

After saying all of this my short take is: get this free game it's very addictive and it's a strategy game. 'Nuff said. ;D

I intend to play Civilization V: Gods and Kings, Warlock: Master of the Arcane, The Witcher, (& possibly The Witcher 2,) as well as do my dailies in World of WarCraft and World of Tanks.

I'll finish Portal 2, play some of the games I picked up on Steam (Gratuitous Space and Tank, Fallout Vegas) and generally try to get in as much as possible. Also spend some time with Lego Batman 2.

Pocket Planes sounds similar to the old Impressions' game Air Bucks. Now I've got a hankering to play that old relic again. :-\

Hey Gus. I thought the Ottomans started the campaign owning the balkans, except for western Greece. What happened? Anyway I'm back to CMBN- The Road to Monteborg. Damn this is a long campaign. If the US Army would give me a couple of tanks, I'd be in Cherborg by now. Watch-out for those Georgians and Persians on your flank Sultan Gusington.
