satellites, telecommunications, increased our knowlage in physics, medicine, biology. Manned space flight will take us into other worlds, the moon, mars, and byond. the 1969 moon landing was a crazy shit tha man did, but in the near future, we will go back, we will build bases there, we will expande into space. The future of mankind can only exist if we go to space, if we colonize other planets. So don't tell me it acompished "nada".

There hasn't been a human foot on another planet since 1972. That's 40 years ago. Nothing since. That's what I call nada.

Manned space flight has been stalled since. The ISS is a boondogle and of no real value. It won't help us get to Mars or even back to the Moon.

I sincerly hope that the Chinese get to the moon in 10 years like they claim. I also hope they don't stop there, build a base for further colonization of the solar system.

The whole universe is Out There and the human race is stuck on this ball of dirt navel gazing......  :P

I remember the 20th of July 1969. I was in the army and stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. A lot of the guys in the barracks were watching television and they motioned me over. On the screen was a guy walking on the moon. I don't believe I will ever forget that moment.

If you mean it by that way, then I must agree. america landed on the moon just to make some show off. The problem with space program is that we invest only small money in it, we don't care anylonger with space exploration. The chinese will get to the moon, maybe not in 10 years, but they will, they want to show that they can. Humans will, one day, understand how importat space exploration is, and how important is for us to leave this floting rock, and our solar system, we need to persist as a race, and we will not do it by not going byond the starts.

I should know more over the subject, I agree, I really don't have a good example of the direct inpact in our knowlage because of human space flight in the las 40 years. Maybe something related to medicine and physics, because some experiments need humans to be performed.
