all of the modern Doctors have had just 3 season.  whats been annoying is how the episode count has dropped so much.

9 had one season.

real-9 had no seasons ;)

10 had something like 3-1/2 seasons, but the number of years involved was greater than that.

11 officially had 3 seasons but at least one of those seasons was split across two years and functioned cleanly as 2 seasons in itself.

I think 12 had legitimately 3 seasons.

I have always wanted to see Robert Carlyle as  Doctor Who. I don't know if there has just not been any interest on his part or from the creators. Too bad.

Carlyle has a lot of interest in playing the Doctor.  Unfortunately for him, there have only been a few open casting calls for the role recently, notably for the 9th and 11th Doctors.  Carlyle tried out for 11 and was prepared to leave Once Upon a Time if he got the role, but Smith beat him out.  Capaldi was actually Smith's runner up.

Tennant and Capaldi were the first choices when their time came up, and no open casting call would've happened unless they hadn't accepted the role.  The new show runner, Chibnall, had his choice made early as well, but he did a casting call, though no men were invited so no chance for Carlyle.

I agree with you, Stagger. I do think that Capaldi was one of the best ever though, and Tennant did a very good job of it.

I was hoping that they would cast Missy in the part so that we could have a bad 'un for a change :-)

After Baker, Capaldi was my second favorite. I didn't like everything they did with his character though.

I think we'll be seeing a lot more of Missy in the future.  :smitten:
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.
