Ok we're going to do something a little different today.  Remember kids, if a man starts quoting bible verses in a bar and pulls out a sword, you need to run out of there.

So I've been playing a lot of Emperor of the Faded Suns lately and will undoubtedly continue over the weekend.  I also plan on trying this new mod by Meteor Man for Civ III.

As you can see the map stretches from the east coast of the USA to just before the Ural mountains in the USSR.

Nice! Not sure what the weekend will bring time-wise for games. I'm on a Combat Mission roll right now but I've learned the hard way, when you think you've got this game whipped, there's already an 88mm ass-kicking headed right for you. Better duck. So something more relaxing likely, there was an update for Solasta recently so that's most likely where I'll be. Have a great weekend Grogs.

"The Book of Eli" was such a good movie.  Me?  BoC work.  Probably some Combat Mission and some CMO.  And back to the Rule the Waves AAR.

Continuing on with my Old World Egypt campaign and perhaps starting a Rome 2 Divide et Imperia game as Egypt (Ptolemaic Egypt).

Minor defeat for the Austrians in the introductory scenario of Serbia 14. Hampered by (historically accurate) horrendous C and C issues crossing the Drina in the first, rushed and complacent invasion of Serbia.

Lots to learn but huge fun.

Splitting my time between New World and Diablo 4.

I like the idea of posting movie scenes for Friday threads.  I'll have to try to remember to do the same in the future.

Haven't seen Book of Eli yet but I know it's very well regarded, might have to fix that this weekend.
I was waiting for a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one.

I really liked it. I continue to think it is very underrated.

OK, I just found this clip on YouTube and had to share it.  Pretty much summarizes my experience with any co-op or team-based FPS.

"I'm dead."
"I got him."
"That was me."

I'll play Imperium Galactica 2 and Star Trek - Bridge Commander, which I bought on GOG's current sale (by the way, you can now get a free copy of Sigma Theory on GOG).
Also long running on and off of Grim Dawn.

Boltgun - this game rocks. Doom meets 40k.
Company of Heroes 3 - Cheesed off when propaganda trolls and fans willing to hate things mean politics scares players away from a perfectly good game.
WARNO - Two new battlegroups and more complaining by the community that it is not red dragon "I can have complete freedom to make decks from hero units".
Dawn of War 2 - some of my friends are playing this again. Not a great fan of this one, but I like 40k.

Having fun with it so far.  The cinematics are fantastic.  My Barbarian is only level 39 and due to the way every zone scales to your level he never really feels like he is getting stronger.  I understand that changes at endgame but I'm nowhere near that yet.  I'd recommend it to people who like AARPG's.

Level scaling until end game??  :hair:  Sheesh... as a D2 purist, the more I learn about D4 the less it appeals to me.  :grumpy:
