Wow....I'm kinda shocked there are that many good reviews.

Grim.Reaper

Tons of reviews up, been making my way through Xbox ones, haven't seen any that totally hate it so far, basically seen average game to above average, none where it is great, which I basically expected. Definitely going to buy, got crushed at work today so might be a day or two before I can.

This guy, who I really trust, says it is absolute garbage. I think he calls it "shite".

Negative reviews are not hard to find. I'm surprised you are not seeing them.

Even IGN says it sucks.

Looking at ign written review says a 7 and summarizes as following, not sure how their review translates into it sucks.  That type of score is typical for ign.  I have mostly been reviewing Xbox specific reviews and certainly some are lower but none I have seen said it was the worst. To each his own I guess. Not trying to convince others to buy or not buy and can only go off what I have read myself and from what I have read is what I expected.

Star Wars Outlaws is a fun intergalactic heist adventure with great exploration, but it's hindered by simple stealth, repetitive combat, and a few too many bugs at launch.

I guess you didn't watch the ign video I linked above. They gave it a 4.

In any event, enjoy the game and I hope it's great. Just don't think it's not being reviewed negatively. Because it is.

No offense, but I would ask if you actually watched your own video that you indicated IGN said it sucks and gave it a 4.  At the end of the video it clearly gave it a 7 (Good Rating-see screenshot) and the reviewer summarized the game of having some good qualities, while acknowledging it certainly had a number of negatives/rough spots.  This matched the written review I previously stated which makes sense since it is the same reviewer (written article embeds the same video).

Furthermore, none of my posts ever indicated that I didn't think there were any negative reviews out there, most games do.  What I said is that any reviews I have personally read up until that point did not declare it "sucking" or "worst game", "garbage" etc., although I acknowledged some scores being lower and certainly the reviews did mention some concerns.  Plus I said I was only specifically reviewing Xbox reviews as that is the platform I plan to purchase it on, although I assume all platforms are roughly the same gameplay wise except maybe optimization/performance.  Never said negative reviews didn't exist, nor would I ever think that with the vast number of places reviews happen as that is unrealistic since most games have negative reviews somewhere.  I don't typically watch video reviews as I prefer written reviews as I can read them faster versus watching videos.

I don't expect this game to be great and I have been pretty clear about that, assumed it would be an average game with a Star Wars experience which the reviews I have read seem to confirm that for me.  So a game getting a 6/7 (I have seen higher and lower) seems fitting as what I expected. On Metacritic for Xbox, currently trending around a 78. I'll leave things at that as I am regretting showing any kind of interest in this game and discussing it here, never was trying to convince anyone it would be a great game or to buy it, simply was happy to see another Star Wars game experience.

^thats really weird. You're right about IGN. It's definitely a 7. I swear I watched it and saw a 4. Furthermore, the comments about there being major technical issues and nothing really new seemed to support that.

In any event, you seem to get way too defensive over a game as if you need to justify your interest in buying it. You don't need to justify your interest or defend it. Just like any game, some will like it, some won't. But you should expect to see opinions from both sides and maybe pay attention to them because they may be valid and they could help you. I think it's ridiculous that you would regret posting about it at all simply because I shared negative reviews.

Like I said, I hope you end up loving it and then posting why. I certainly would trust your opinion more than IGNs.

No, I don't get defensive over games, nor justifying my interest, I am quite the opposite.  I can care less whether others like the game or buy, which I have repeatedly said.  What I do care about, is information being correct and representing what I have actually said.  You indicated the video saying it was a 4 and when I stated that the same written review was a 7, you doubled down saying I didn't even bother watching the video.  In the same comments, you implied I didn't think there was any negative reviews out there, which not sure where your getting that or that I have any problem with people sharing negative reviews.  All I said is the reviews I have seen myself didn't contain the same kind of feedback you stated.  Me regretting posting my comments have nothing to do because you simply shared negative reviews.

^you still sound angry.

I made a mistake about IGN. I doubled down because I watched it again and still thought I saw a 4. It doesn't change the fact that there are a lot of negative reviews. Try to just come to grips with that and relax.

Still don't know why going on about negative reviews, that was never questioned so nothing to come to grips on. Thanks.

I feel like my expectations were spot on. I am having a good time but it will only be the (very well executed) Star Wars theme that is going to keep me from getting bored with it. It's decently done but I don't think I'd have the motivation to keep going for long if it was generic sci-fi.

Simple stealth and repetitive combat are indeed the weak points, just like with AssCreed games.

I watched some of the Worth A Buy review, got frustrated with it quite quickly. I used to like that guy but I think he has learned that outrage brings his income.

Saw an article about how you can't free-aim your blaster while riding the speeder (you can only use the dead-eye mechanic with a cooldown).  The devs gave some BS reason about how you shouldn't be able to just "ride around and assault people."  I can appreciate that they want to emphasize the "speeder chase" aspect of combat you see in the movies, but come on...

For a game about being an outlaw, there sure are a lot of weird restrictions on outlaw stuff you can do.

Many such cases. Critical Drinker is very much the same, except with movies instead of games.
I was waiting for a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one.

And outraged with this game he is! The biggest gripe seems to be that it is not really "open world" and, like me, he absolutely hates how they force you into playing as a character that is just not interesting or cool to play as at all. That alone really turns me off of the game.

I really wish they would've taken the Cyberpunk 2077 approach with a balance between named, canonical character with a personality and being able to actually freaking customize them.

Facial hair is a must in any game about being an outlaw.  I don't make the rules.
