Why is he playing on version 2.4.1? That's pretty old, no?

That's what I thought and assumed that's how long it's taken him to film it - his last run through was 2.1

I checked on the forum for the 2.5-2.7 updates and there's nothing of great significance he's missed - mainly the set up options with the different level of aliens - the most important thing been he has the new missile procedures of 2.2 in there
