The Guadalcanal FRIDAY

[Tripoli]

October 13 was the USN's 251st birthday. To all my fellow squids, Happy (Belated) Birthday!  And because the USMC is our kid brother, they get a Happy Birthday too!

This is the "Guadalcanal March" from the TV series "Victory at Sea", performed by "The Orchestra at Temple Square"

As far as gaming: Task Force Admiral.  Fight Club work.  BoC work.  I really am going to actually start "Battle Plan" or "War Footing" both of which I purchased this week.  I'm also playing the "House Training the Two New Puppies" simulator.  Except this isn't a simulation....

For gaming I keep walking around in the world of The Witcher 3 (remastered).

Have a great weekend !

It's about 2 weeks until Aurora 3.0 drops so I'm taking a break - I got a handle on everything I wanted to in my current and that was a restart of a previous run so enough Aurora-ing for now

Torn between civ 7 and sea power - I've played 10 mins of civ and liked what I saw so I may continue but nothing scratches a strategy gaming itch more than launching Tom cats off a carrier - we'll see

[Tripoli]

I may actually do Seapower.  I was watching a Youtube video of a play through of Seapower tonight, and caught myself muttering about the guy's weapon selection doctrine.    Yes, I need a life.....

Just checked out the Nathan Fielder documentary "You Can See Everything" about that Theranos con lady, Elizabeth Holmes.

If you've ever dated a pathological liar, you'll be watching this like a Vietnam vet having flashbacks during Full Metal jacket.

Been playing around with the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 campaign. It's not that bad. Enjoying it a lot.

Star Citizen Event still. Doing some gathering missions. I don't usually do any mining, but the event is an exception. So I purchased a Prospector and a Helix head. I am in search of a mineral called Beryl. Refine it somewhere, then deliver it in a cargo ship to the destination location.
EDIT: Just finished the event. The good thing about doing these events is that the rewards you get are generally permanently added to your account, rather than just being added as one shot inventory rewards you can lose. Although I guess after 1.0 when the game finally drops, all bets would be off and you could lose them permanently. We will see.
