Here's some other pics - long overdue but model making gets slow in the winter (bad eyes and light). I'm hoping to get a decent magnifying glass with light sometime soon.

I did some filling - though it may not have been a total success - but it was my first time. It HAS filled a couple of large holes. Also - I just used filler (as in household filler) as opposed to modelling filler (putty?) - and I don't have a selection of sanding implements - but I'll be looking at getting some possibly

Looking good!
BTW, large decals such as the Flying Tigers mouth decals are a brass-plated bitch to apply correctly on irregular surfaces so if your model came with other squadron options I strongly suggest them. The RAF desert scheme would be a nice alternative.

Judge, one thing that's nice is the pics that include Humbrol tins.
They were really big in the USA, but I haven't seen a decent supply since, oh 1990.
Good to see they are still available.
There used to be  a brand, Imrie-Risley, that I cut my teeth on.  Are these still being produced in the UK?
They were considered the gold standard over here, while oil based paints were big.  However, once the government made them remove the lead stabilisers, they became pariahas.  Once they were opened, you might have 3 - 4 months before the jar hardened and it was useless.
"Most gods throw dice, but Fate plays chess, and you don't find out until too late that he's been playing with two queens all along".  Terry Pratchett.

During filming of Airplane, Leslie Nielsen used a whoopee cushion to keep the cast off-balance. Hays said that Nielsen "played that thing like a maestro"

Tallulah Bankhead: "I'll come and make love to you at five o'clock. If I'm late, start without me."

"When all other trusts fail, turn to Flashman." — Abraham Lincoln.

"I have enjoyed very warm relations with my two husbands."
"With your eyes closed?"
"That helped."  Lauren Bacall

Master Chiefs are sneaky, dastardly, and snarky miscreants who thrive on the tears of Ensigns and belly dancers.   Admiral Gerry Bogan.

That's "one" thing stopping me going to spray gun - I love enamels and worked with them when I was a kid. Everytime I open a tin and I get that smell, my dad could be sitting next to me.

I've never heard of Imrie Risley.

the water based paints available to today are actually better, last longer and have more color options then the old enamels.
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

If you do get an airbrush, then acrylic (water based) is the way to go.. especially if you don't own a 'booth'..

Acrylics seem horrible for regular brush application though, or at least Tamiya is... But in an Airbrush, Tamiya is a dream to work with.
