I'm admittedly not quite as excited about this one as StarDrive, but it still looks like it could have potential.  (Besides, as our site's self-appointed space-strategy guru, it is my solemn duty to ramble on aimlessly about inform you of all news in my favorite genre. :P )

Anyway, there's some new goings-on with this upcoming 4x title:  First off, Legends of Pegasus (finally!) has its own website

In addition, developer Kalypso has put out a new trailer.  Unfortunately, it's monumentally unimpressive (at least in terms of generating interest), but it does look pretty good -- apparently no CGI was used to make it, just the regular game engine.

Also (I meant to mention this last week, but I forgot), Adam Solo from SpaceSector conducted an interview with the devs.  A fair bit of good info can be found there.

For those of us who care about such things, I feel compelled to add a note of caution:  The game's digital version -- and quite possibly the boxed copy as well (although this isn't confirmed yet) -- is going to require Steam.

I really like the looks of this. Now, which will be released first...Pegasus or StarDrive? I see Pegasus is due out in June.

I don't think that's a firm release date, just a very loose "guess" at this point.

Kalypso has said they very much want to avoid the problems that occurred with the release of Sword of the Stars 2, and as such haven't committed to a firm release date yet.

That being said, I would say we're probably looking at an early-summer release here.  However, that's just a half-educated guess on my part (based largely on comments of questionable reliability that have been made in the game's forum).

As for StarDrive, I believe Dan is still shooting for June.  As always, though, time will tell!

Off topic (sort of) but does anyone have any thoughts on Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellions. The first game with all microexpansions was pretty slick but lacked depth. I wonder if that will change with Rebellions.

I already know I'm gonna pass on that one.

I liked Sins as a concept, but in practice it felt like a pretty standard RTS title -- there was very little "4x" gaming IMHO.  Sins Rebellions looks like more of the same, just with improved visuals and a few extras thrown in (such as the new "Titans").  ::)

Amazon has the availability date as June 30 for Pegasus. I believe anything Amazon says.

^  In their SpaceSector interview, Kalypso specifically said that was a placeholder date only.  Sucker.

Dammit. Well if StarDrive comes out first then it doesn't matter.

I suspect it'll be close either way, since StarDrive is due out in June (barring delays).

Just four more months (hopefully!)...

Holy crap!  Apparently there's been a whole slew of previews for this game in the last three weeks.  See this link

Some of those screenshots have me hooked...as long as the devs take their time and release a finished game.

The ACG preview had me hooked when they compared the storyline to Battlestar Galactica.

Why is everyone posting this stuff a mere six hours before I have to wake up? Just not enough hours in the day...

I forget in which thread it was, but one of the Kalypso guys over on the forums already stated that they want to be sure the game is playable out of the box, and that there was no way they would allow it to be released in a state similar to that of Sword of the Stars 2.  (The one good thing out of that whole fiasco is that it appears to have served as a cautionary tale for other game developers.)

I have to admit, the lore they're building for LoP is starting to intrigue me a little.  I may even play the storyline campaign, which is something I don't usually do in strategy games.

You're preaching to the choir.  As it is, I was only able to read two of those previews myself before I had to go to bed!
