Hi GrogHeads.  A mod question.
Could someone direct me toward a graphic mod for John Tillers Civil War Matrix Version?
I likes the game butt its uglay.  I had some graphics mods for PanzerBattles that I liked.
I think they were made by Phillippe?  That was a few Hard Drives ago.  Just wondering
if some body has one for this game....
thank you
cheers

That leads to the Wargamer Depot link to d/l the file.  But the file is gone.. you get a 404.

And Simovitch says he doesn't have his mod files anymore.  :-[  Poof!

Just take comfort in knowing that the stock graphics still look better than the HPS versions.  A gfx mod for the latter would be a must if I were to get them.  :o

Maybe post on Matrix site, see if there's someone that can share the file.. or get the exact filename and google?

I read this blog post (and it's about a rogue-like)  - but I couldn't help supplant my disatisfaction with Tiller's legacy art assets, that we seem to be lumbered with even to this day. Someone hire John Attea to do lines of blue and grey firing at each other, please! :)

I've actually been playing DCSS quite a bit lately, again.   I must be pretty masochistic because I'm terrible at it.

The guy definitely has the best pixel art tileset out there for these freebie roguelikes.  I don't agree with him on the dark colors of the DCSS tileset he made.  I think they're wonderful as they don't look too terribly cartoonish and his dungeon walls are pretty amazing for such media.  My eyes are still working fine, despite the squinting.  :)

Tiller's stuff could definitely use such a makeover.
