Deus Ex or Borderlands 2 or Left4Dead2

I am thinking about gifting me a game. I was thinking about those three titles.

Deus Ex seems to be the most interesting but i am afraid it will need a little more commitment than i will be able to give and it's not on sale for mac.
Borderlands2 looks like fun
Left4Dead has a lot of fans here

Have you any suggestions? My favorite is Deus Ex so far..

Left4Dead2 is great fun - but a bit samey after a while...but good visceral fun

Dees Ex is a great game and well worth the small amount of money they are asking - though I have yet to finish it!

I grabbed Borderlands 2.

Very much like the first but reportedly more expansive, including regarding phatlootz and massive selection of firearms.    8)  Still has the same gameplay from what I've seen thus far (slightly different skill trees) but there are also unlocks and extra account-spanning skill points & that kind of fluff.  Action RPG wholesomeness, multi-player co-op is pretty well integrated for easy drop-ins & such.

I got my usual nausea from playing it but it does have a lot more graphics options in-game, including FOV slider, so I just need to tweak them so I don't get motion sickness from the default view looking like everything's too up-close to me.


Deus Ex is a fun single-player Stealth RPG.  I grabbed that last year, and had fun with it, but hadn't revisited the thing since my first 20+ hours or so.  I plan to.  Also got Batman: Arkham City CE for $7.50 because I heard it is kinda sandboxy with similar stealth action but I'm pretty concerned about it being too console-ized as those are the ones that usually give me headaches and nausea.  :-\

EDIT:  If I manage to get the settings under control for Borderlands 2, we may have to go gunnin' together sometime.  ;D
