Frankly I think WotR is the better game.

After seeing some vids, while it downloads, I'm thinking the same.  It just looks deeper all-around than Chivalry.

I usually hate them because enemy archers shoot me in the face while I'm trying to kill someone.  :D  I must be one big-ass target.

My only concern with war of the roses is the lack of controller support...I just find it hard using the keyboard all the time, just not good at it.  Controller works pretty well with chivalry.

WOR needs better maps and better game modes.  Tinkering with the character builder is fun, but the actual gameplay is dull, dull, dull.

Hey Grim, I've been contemplating trying a controller for Chivalry too. Which brand are you using? I was thinking of the Xbox 360 PC controller. I checked the config folder in Chivalry and embedded in there are lines for XBOX.  Too bad WOTR doesn't have controller support, I really need a controller more for that game than Chivalry.

I use wired Xbox 360 windows controller....works very well for all my games.  In chivarly I am not sure how much customization can be done since been using the default.  I could not imagine playing with the keyboard, so much easier with controller in my opinion.

Yeah, there was some discussion over at the Chivalry website forums about whether you could alter the config files for the controllers, not sure what the eventual conclusion was on the subject. Since I've also done quite a bit of console gaming in the last seven years especially with the XBOX 360 controller, I should probably give Chivalry a shot with one to see if I improve over the mouse and keyboard, although a friend of mine tried one and went back to the M&K.

What's up with WotR's Settings not saving?  It's a pain in the ass to keep my mouse sensitivity setting - it rarely stays the way I set it, along with video gamma.  >:(

I got them adjusted once or twice before but now they don't seem to wanna move a damn bit.  I'm beginning to think that, for some odd reason, the settings only properly save if I run the game in Full Screen mode - and it doesn't do so in Windowed mode.  Or that it only works during a full moon.

Yeah, it all is a personal preference....I am fine with the mouse part, but trying to do all the movement with keys just fluster me.  I would rather be concentrating on cutting people's heads off than just moving:)

^If you do decide to get an XBox controller they are on sale at Amazon for ~40. I just got one myself for Dark Souls.

And this is probably the most irritating bug in WotR for me.  After a few rounds, it goes psychedelic!  Probably my video card but it only happens in this game.  Other people are experiencing this as well and they still don't fix it.



Another bug is when I block with shield. My character gets stuck walking in one direction until the edge of the map.  No way to get out of it until I die.  But no one can find and kill me.

I get something similar but mine just goes monochromatic green.  Makes me think I'm playing on a TRS-80.
