Oddly enough - wasn't there some Games For Windows Live DRM bug that caused people to have to disable the damn thing to get their game to work, at one point?

Buggy DRM is just all too common. :-\

Hell, Ubi had to disable the Fade-style DRM on Silent Hunter 4 in the first or second update, because it was getting false positives on legitimate customers and screwing up their gameplay. ::)

See, this makes absolutely no sense to me. Let's see that down the road, one of these companies completely changes their policy and goes DRM free. what, you're still going to boycott them even though they're now making the decision to go in a direction you like? Are you saying you won't ever buy a single game any of these companies has available on GOG, even though those are entirely DRM free, because you disagree with their method on other platforms?

I specifically refused to buy Heroes VI, despite aggressive lobbying from my wife, because the DRM sucked so badly and made it impossible to play multi-player hotseat with full game functionality without buying multiple licenses. I get pirating and DRM, but when a company starts driving a consistently poor user experience to protect against piracy, they have to realize that they'll lose some customers.

It's pretty much made me not even look at titles from Ubi unless they're released DRM-free somewhere like GoG.

Wow much hate for Ubisoft. I have to admit though, I don't have an PC games from this company. My only two titles I have are for XBOX and there are no DRM issues there. Far Cry 3 is probably very close to beating Skyrim as...best...game...eva. Seriously it's that good. The other game I have is Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Great game.

But I probably won't be getting any of their games for PC though based on what you guys are saying.

Yeah I agree completely with FarAway Sooner and Longdan. Use DRM if you must, but as soon as it starts being a real inconvenience to me as a paying customer, I'll stop buying your games. It's bloody stupid that "pirates" get a better (and in some cases even a more complete) experience than those of us who pay with our hard-earned cash.

Christ, I can rarely afford to buy a game these days, and I could so easily just torrent them instead but I refuse to. Being rewarded for my morals with crappy DRM that has a real, detrimental effect on my experience is a massive slap in the face. As such, I won't do business with these companies. My principles mean more to me than the latest Best Game Evar!
