I wouldn't call it dumbing down so much as a coarsening of culture.  It's one of the downsides of a deregulated media market that caters to the demands of the majority.  Doesn't speak we'll of the majority of the populace to see that channels like TLC and History have gone from showing fairly scholarly documentaries 15 years ago to shows like Honey Boo Boo and Ancient Aliens because that's what the masses would rather see.

Is it really the case? What if they try to convert the bright lights to drooling imbeciles?

When they started showing JAG on History channel my TV went the way of the dinosaur.
Not even for half-Iranian Catherine Bell dressed up as the cutest little Marine ever.
Gone.  No more TV.

You are Welsh, of course. Your goal is to be the last man standing.
Then go for the Irish.  I'd sooner fight on the rolling hills & plains of Eire than the Scottish highlands!

Also, if Medieval 2 is even remotely like the first MTW, Scottish lands probably aren't that great for income.

Rolling plains?  Try bogs.  They don't call us bogtrotters for nothing.

Depends.  What's my goal?  Am I English and/or of English decent?

The other factor is alcohol.  I am lead to believe that the Welsh can scrap better at higher levels of intoxication.  The problem is that most people cannot stand, let alone swing a punch, at those extreme levels of intoxication.

The intro to the Charlotte Church Show taught me that drunken fighting is a common Welsh thing.  That said, common does not necessarily = excellence.

Sweet!  So did you take them one at a time, or both at once?

That's a fairly brave confession right there!

What, that I've seen the Charlotte Church Show a couple of times??!!  Hey, I spent a few days in jolly ole London town back in 2006.  TV in the hotel had all of 6 channels.  It was the best thing on the telly at the time.
