Now the Grand Librarian is going flaky on me again.  That's ok.  He will repent of it in a few turns and give me stuff to ally with  him again.

The configuration of Rjakh's forces outside Greyville lends itself to an area of effect Spell.  I have previously cast a Lightning Spell (either the single hex or the multi hex I do not remember which) and had it go on to electrocute units in adjacent hexes.  I do not know what the catalyst is to make that happen, although, I speculate that the unit initially targeted is Undead.  It could also be that the units are near water.  both elements have been present in earlier castings.  So, I try the single hex Lightning Spell and only succeed in damaging one unit.

I am able to get my best unit in the area, a Seasoned Goblin Spearmen, into the city of Greyville.  It will provide the unit protection and reduce the damage both city and unit take.  That, and there's a LOT of units outside my walls and I do not want to lose Greyville.

My Research is at 50.6, another 10 would accelerate the process even more.  The -8 Gold upkeep is a bitch though.  I choose to advance knowledge and Excavate.

I have been saving to buy the Hero, Bradic the Grim, but, the situation outside Greyville is dire.  I have a basic Goblin Archer unit and a Seasoned Goblin Spearmen in and around the city and the only other possible defenders are another basic unit of each type outside Goblinhall.  If I don't even up the odds in my favor, Greyville will be taken.  So, I choose to upgrade the Spearmen to Seasoned and throw them into the fray.

As I noted last turn, Rjakh has been kind enough to bunch his units together for an area of effect Spell.  That Spell is Firestorm and the time to use it is now.  So I do.

Meanwhile, up North, outside Snakegate, a battle rages to drive the monsters away from the city.  While making a flanking movement, my Ratman Pirates discover a Portal to another world.  Great.  Just what I need.  MORE trouble :(

Rjakh continues to keep his units in fry formation, so, I oblige him again.

There are two Heroes outside Greyville being employed against me, an Elder Ogre and an Enlightened Shaman.  I am concentrating on the Ogre.

My Taishar Knights use Rejuvenation on my Halberdiers.  This will allow my pike wielders to be close to full power next turn and they are my most effective unit in the area.

I built the Military Academy in Ratville.  This is what it will get me.  Now all I have to do is get the 500GP :)

#162
Third time is the charm.  Rjakh has moved his injured units south of Greyville.  My firestorm kills them all, including the Elder Ogre.  Now it is time to focus on the Shaman.  Which my ally has used his fleet to do earlier in the Turn.  My attacks cause the unit to retreat into the water.  As long as he does not escape my view next Turn, I will be able to eliminate the Shaman, too.

Orcgate reaches Level 5 and allows use of the Magic Node for a Magic Testing Area.

A Spell I have never seen before.  It appears useful.  Not sure about the Spirit Damage though.
