Here is the final product (still some tiding up to do and add one more fan):

Everything up and running, going to OC to 4.7 (testing temps).

Just a couple of notes:

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - Very impressed with this heatsink. It was fairly inexpensive and so far has done a very good job.
E-3lue Cobra Type-M EMS131BK - A $13.00 gaming mouse that is surprisingly very good. I bought this on a whim and have been pleasantly surprised.
Xion XON-570 Steel ATX Mid Tower - not a bad case, but very cramped for cable management and extra fan placement.
AS Rock LGA1155 Intel Z77 - my first AS Rock board and the bios is very easy to navigate and use. Has a lot of OC features

So far I am testing and still installing..... setup to 2 a.m. getting about 1/3 of my FSX stuff back installed.

Damn..

I've been wanting to build a new rig lately, but have other more mundane crap I gotta drop money into at the moment. It's maddening because Newegg has been shooting out lots of parts sales lately and I keep seeing nice motherboards, processors, windows 7 OEMs at sale prices. Damn you Spring Sales! >:(

+1 I got my rig in 06, with only a graphics update since. It still runs well, though. Never underestimate how important a well designed and well ventillated tower can be.

I have overclocked and running @ 4.5ghz with no issue. I was running at 4.7 but backed down. I tested Shogun Total War 2 maxed out running at 2560x1440 maxed with no problems, and also ran NBA2k13 at 2560x1440 with no issues. Tested out ARMA II maxed up and running at 1920x1080.

Finally got FSX installed (twice) and running with a lot of maxed options @ 1920x1080. I had to back traffic down to about 35%~40% for Commercial and General Aviation.

What kind of temps u getting with 4.5 oc?

Did a stress test (Prime95) and on 100% I averaged about 70°c ~ 75°c. I had one core that got as high as 84, but it never really got over 75°c. Right now it is rock solid and idling is set at about 25°c.

I got another low-cost machine. Went from a i5 to a basic i7 and from 1gig to 1.5 gig on graphics and 2 gig extra ram to 8. AND still on Windows7. Which reminds me I need to look up how to make sure I have admin privileges when I set things up on the new machine.
