This weekend it's going to be:

- i just started a new campaign as the Central Powers in Commander: The Great War...playing the french version.

- Haegemonia: Legions of Iron...facing incoming aliens in my second campaign (played the first campaign many years ago)

- Strategic War in Europe...as Germany with the new patch

- Star Trek: Birth of the Federation with the Romulans...

Happy Easter

Between Easter and work this weekend probably not much gaming will be done.  Although I hope to get some StarCraft II in and perhaps some more Far Cry 3.

With all the fantasy strategy games I've grabbed in the last couple weeks -- Eador: Genesis, Warlock, Age of Wonders 1 & AoW: Shadow Magic, and now Dominions 3 (like Greybriar, I picked it up at GG for cheap) -- I suppose I really ought to play at least one of them...  ::)

Also -- gods help me -- I used the 10%-off promo code to pick up Starships Unlimited 3 from Matrix.  I've been curious about that one for a long time now, so maybe we'll see what it's all about.

I am playing the balanced mod.

Starships unlimited is a very good game...not very intuitive imho and the graphics are not that great. But it's really worth to play.

Sir Slash

CMBN And I'm un-happy about it. WARNING-- SPOILERS AHEAD. I'm playing the German Kampgruppe Engel campaign and at the beginning of the 3rd. battle I get a King Tiger tank as reinforcement. So I slog through battles 1 & 2 and when I get to 3, my King Tiger is about 300 meters in front of my lines and un-manned. I have to escort the crew out to it and then try to survive long enough to get it back to my side. I could just leave it there, but you know I gotta have it. It's right next to an American held town. The briefing says battalion-sized American force with a tank company in support. So this is where I'll lose the camp. as I'll probably sacrifice my entire command to get that damned Tiger.  :'(
"Take a look at that". Sgt. Wilkerson-- CMBN. His last words after spotting a German tank on the other side of a hedgerow.

I'm knee deep in a Sword of the Stars 2 game and finally getting the hang of how it works and the pacing, etc....really starting to enjoy it, even more than Galactic Civ 2, though Distant World still holds first place for me.   But, it's off to visit family for the weekend so I won't get back to it until Monday.  Have a great gaming weekend everyone!

I just purchased Dominions 3 from GamersGate for $7.49 so I will probably be putting some time into that. It's Monsters of Metal Weekend at World of Tanks and that will take up several hours of my gaming time this weekend. I'm not sure what else I will be playing.

Good price GB

are you SP-ing, or eventually MP-ing?

I doubt that I will ever get good enough at Dominions 3 to play anything but the single player mode. I wouldn't want to embarrass myself.  :P But we'll see.
Regardless of how good a PC game may be it will always have its detractors and no matter how bad a PC game may be it will always have its fans.

JudgeDredd

I plan on actually playing a game of LnL Band of Heroes, some Flaming Cliffs 3 (just finished my first two missions - AND landed!) and painting some of my Trumpeter 1/35 Challenger II MBT.

Probably nothing ele as the wife has some work for me to complete

I grabed Etherlords for $6 from gog.com, from first looks it plays like ande feel alot like HerosOfMight&Magic, but the battles with cards, although still feels like the autocombat of HoMM, you summon creatures to fight then they take a bite out of the enemy. so Im going to play this I think over easter.

I will play dominions 3 every day of my life from now on , its that good

I found Distant Worlds to be easy but complex, the things that go on in the game are fantastic, so I will also be playing DW over the weekend.

Maybe some field Of Glory, or Armada 2526.

W8taminute

As one of Grogheads resident XBOX'ers I'll be playing Gears of War: Judgement, maybe some Halo Wars, and if there is time GRFS and cracking open Bioshock: Infinite.  That and Easter celebrations plus honey do lists.   ;)

The MTG-like battles in Etherlords is great, although the campaign side can get pretty tough in the series.  Etherlords 2 is the better game because it has more 'stuff' in it and the gameplay has a few improvements.  I hope GOG gets Etherlords 2, because that's the best.  I suppose it'll come in sometime, after the initial sales of the first one tapers off there?

Pah!  I'm so crap at strategy games that I can't even usually beat the AI on normal difficulty levels - hasn't stopped me diving straight into multiplayer!

And yes, I'm making a fool of myself already! :D
