I so totally suck at this game.  Most of the time, I have no idea what I'm doing.  And my mic is broken.  Both of them :(  Windy and Bison are very kind to be so patient.

Don't worry this is my first time with MMO as well.  Bison is good people and very helpful as I am sure Windy is as well I just haven't gotten to game with him yet.

I got carried away doing the starter quest and now can't meet up with everyone until ya'll clear the starter island.  :)  But I might make a second character for the starter island until everyone is caught up.

MMOs can be surprisingly complex.

Back in the day I can remember nearly making Dark Age of Camelot unplayable because I accidentally hit some hot keys that changed the UI. DDO looks a lot less prone to that kind of problem. Thankfully.

Even so there are a number of special attacks and stuff available that, if you've never seen them in an MMO, appear to be far more complicated than they really are. The good news is that you really can't mess things up at low levels. Eventually we'll probably have some encounters where we really need to know what we're doing. But early on there's not much to worry about.

Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Well all I can say is that you haven't adventured with Windy yet.  He likes to ignore the herd of monsters chasing you around the dungeon so long as it allows him to loot the treasure chest.  Elves...don't trust them...ever.

If you're silly enough to wander off before I am satisfied that all the coppers have been accounted for....

and don't blame me for your aggrom management skills... or lack thereof

The aggo is due to the monsters recognizing my awesome powers compared to your toothpick launcher.  :p

Ha!   No way!   I'm going to learn how to stand behind you so you can go dual blade crazy on them before I rain down the fire.

I got to my third level last night and have enough of an established character that I now have equipment envy..... will likely visit the DDO store sometime soon [i.e., payday] and buy my way to glory.

Any tips?

And that dual weild is crazy to watch with my aging eyes

Yeah we can talk about it in game.   I'd read a few of the ranger builds on the forums being used from 2012 to now.   Of course there will be alot of equipment that is crafted or raid related but you can get a feel of what to look for. Do a google search like ddo ranger build 2012.   Most will be tempest and arcane variants.

Did I miss your post on how to friend you in-game or has Windy brainwashed you into grouping with him because of his awesome love of corrupt Global Warming databases?

Yeah.  Just post your character name here LB.  The folks who have characters in game so far are listed on post #1.

you're just jealous that Biso' and I can play nice in DDO and not let our 'forum personas' bleed into it

WTF would a bleeding heart lib do in DDO? Heal both party members and the monsters??? Take all the treasure and disburse it to the party after [less 20% FOR TAXES]? Make the party clean up the dugeons afterwards ?

I do confess that I didn't have a background check that entitles me to use a bow capable of shooting 100+ arrows in one dungeon crawl. Nor did I get clearence from the town government to shoot within the municipal boundaries .....

I have Windy sworn to an oath of secrecy, which may never be devulged unless we can profit laugh at someone else's expense first.
