There was some smaller stuff I haven't really spied, but I also still had a small Level 2 Frigate and some special Cruiser that had bonuses for every weapon type.

That's a good haul!  They'll both be great for fleet engagements.

I bought the special edition that came out a couple or three years ago.  The only decent in-game item I had was a special edition shuttle.  Apart from a different colour it was identical in every way to other shuttles, so I sold it.  I think people were paying around 60,000,000 ISK for them!

I'm starting to really get the hang of things. I've since joined a mining corporation and have been running mining ops with them. A dozen or so people in lo sec space - everyone has a role to fill and with teamwork you make bank and have fun in the process. This game is something special I think.

The only thing that irks me is my "To Play" list is just gonna get longer because of this diversion into EVE.  ;D

This game sounds like fun but I refuse to get involved in something where I don't feel I can trust folks.

I believe in the kindness of strangers, but there are enough reports of backstabbing to give me a clear picture that I wouldn't like this game. No sense investing time in it just to find out there's an asshole out there looking to grief me.

I've just been running missions & salvaging in hi-sec space so I don't have to worry about griefers blowing me up all the time.  You can still do okay playing it the safe.

I don't really plan on going to lo-sec unless it's in a group activity or I have a good plan as to what I'm gonna do there.  Thus far, I've had no need to.

Yeah, the backstabbing is usually between corps and alliances.  I haven't personally witnessed it once.  There are plenty of ways you can shield yourself from it, and if you're sensible you'll be fine.

But the money can be so good in nullsec! I haven't run many but occasionally I roll with a group that's got far better gear than I. We run wormhole gas mining ops which can bring in millions in short order.

Problem is occasionally a half dozen ships will decloak as soon as you finish mining - they'll annihilate you and take your hard-earned stash. The cut throat nature is part of the game and, frankly, no matter what you play - if it involves other humans there will be plenty of assholes...

That's pretty much what I've been doing, too.  We should figure out how to meet up Nef.  Maybe we can work out this exploration thing.

That's actually the kind of stuff I wouldn't mind participating in, for nullsec.  Wormhole exploitation, for example.  Group ventures.

It's just that 1) I'm flying solo right now until I find a Corp, and 2) Flying through low and null sec solo is just a deathwish via gate camp from what I understand.  Considering I'm still only flying Level III (maximum) missions in a BC, I'm fine with working up my faction standings while pulling in a small but steady income doing so.  Up until I've trained and figured out how to do some fancier stuff, anyway.

No, I'm in Hi-Sec.  You must've understood me all backwards.  ???

I don't plan on going to low or null sec until I'm doing a fleet activity, or I'm wealthy enough & feel like jacking around (and dying).  Solo'ing there is just a good way to die and lose what you're flyin.
