Pretty cool lineup of characters! How's the grind if you level multiple characters? Do you run many of the same missions over and over?

The run throughs are all the same.  So it can be pretty repetitive despite using characters with different powers.

I tend to do it in short stretches on any one character too.

But some of the free-for-all missions can be fun, with a bunch of other players running around wreaking havoc in the same zone.  Many of the 'Acts' may be repetitive but there's usually players all over, throwing cars and wrecking the hordes of baddies, so it can be fun for a time.  The special end-game group missions are like that, cranked to eleven from the masses of baddies, powers, and explosions.

Plays like a Diablo MMO but with the over-the-top superhero action.   It's Free-To-Play so you can get a handful of free characters just by playing.  I tend to do so when I want a simpler smash-up MMO instant gratification experience without most of the other MMO baggage (like waiting on people all the time or wasting time travelling).

Mind you bringing characters to certain levels unlocks permanent XP bonus for your account.
So as you play, the grind gets less and less tedious.

And now X-23 (a teenage female clone of Wolverine) has been released:

And in other news, I've leveled characters enough to get the prestigious permanent 200% extra XP gain :)

Tpek

And now Venom has been released as a playable character.
This game just keeps getting awesomer!  O0

I keep updating it, but also keep getting sucked away into my current strategy obsession.

By the time I come back to wreck the place, there will be a lot of new stuff I haven't seen.   :))

Awesome.  Thanks!

I think it's time to wreak some mayhem this week.

I wondered why the hell I didn't have AA turned on in Marvel Heroes, so turned FXAA back on and adjusted some gfx settings.  All was running fine.. for awhile.

After having it running a couple-three hours straight, I hit a hot key to open an in-game window and it insta-crashed.  So hard that it took two restarts to get my Windows to properly boot.  :tickedoff:

I now recall why I turned AA off before.  The gfx engine is still a bit touchy.  I've had a rare 1 or 2 second freeze since returning to the game lately, but it wasn't often enough to be concerned with.  Maybe I should use a preset and keep it to a couple small adjustments.

Anti-aliasing wasn't the problem.  Marvel Heroes has some nasty memory leaks.  So I've been restarting the client on occasion.

Even that doesn't always help, however.  I tend to leave my desktop running for days straight, without ever turning it off or restarting.  I saw other people bitching about the occasional game crash and it's recommended fix: regularly rebooting your PC.  I thought they meant restarting the program, but I must be wrong because it gave me another blue screen after having played it over a few days without restarting and that supposedly can cause it to freeze your sheeit.

Anyway.. there is reportedly a 64-bit exe client that can be used.  I'm guessing it's buggy beta or we'd be using it right now?

Despite getting a blue screen once every day or two, it's been a nice getaway from serious gaming.

I haven't really had any issues with the game, but then again I usually don't play more than an hour tops at a time.

I noticed.

If I start, I usually don't stop for awhile.  Although I do go AFK reguarly throughout.  So leaving it running idle like that is a bad idea.   Despite regularly logging out, I still got a blue screen after only being on about 20 minutes once which leads me to believe the talk about rebooting your computer every day if you run it regularly.

Being on boosts is really like being on a lot of sugar/coffee, once you run out of them completely (and the devs remove the server side boosts as well),
you just crash down and start feeling like everything's starting to grind :P

Nefaro

It is a grind.  As with any MMO.  :crazy2:

That's why I've always been so Alt-tastic with them.  At least you can switch between different characters' play styles regularly.

Almost forgot,
Winter Soldier (that metal-armed idiot from the latest Captain America flick) was released as a playable character.
Next release is supposed to be Iceman (of X-Men and Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends fame).

Tpek

And now Iceman (of the original 5 X-Men) has been released, alongside with tweaks for the Punisher to make him more playable. :)
