...wait, did I see Blade in that trailer? Is Doctor Strange going straight for Marvel Dracula territory, or setting up for it?? IS THAT WHAT THEY'RE PLANNING AFTER INFINITY WAR!?!

I've probably misunderstood that.

Also, on a recent Agents of SHIELD, a Kree thingie ball showed up which had a sigil on it I thought I recognized but couldn't place. I've already erased the ep, but now I want to go back and look -- because when I saw Strange's iconic sigil, I thought, whoa, are they really going to tie those two ideas together?

I took that fan-made trailer down just because it had a bunch of various other film and video game footage mixed in.  Not sure what was what.


Dr. Strange is supposed to have a big tie-in with the Infinity Stone stuff in the MCU, of course.  At some point..?

I don't recall Dr. Strange having much directly to do with the Infinity Stones, other than just being on the job having to deal with them like everyone. But I paid as little attention as possible to the Infinity Nonsense when it was happening in comics, so...

Yeah, they did a good job but I didn't want to leave it up as-is since a lot of it wasn't actual footage (I later found out). My bad.

You'd know more about all the lore than I.  Just read that he had some part in the infinity stones stuff, but didn't get that directly from the comics.  While I read a few, when I was a kid they belonged to, or was handed down from, a pair of step-brothers over a few years in the early-to-mid 80s.  Short time after that point, all my meager money started going towards tabletop gaming (and then console & computer games).

I'm hopeful they eventually bring Dr Strange into it all, since he was involved with the non-group forever.

Sadly, they'll never get the rights to Angel, since he's on the mutant 'side' of the universe.

So.. did they ever decide on whether to do an Iron Fist series on Netflix, as the rumor went?

Iron Fist was still on the slate to be done last time I saw -- they've even recently cast the cast, including for one of the other prime Marvel martial artists, Shang Chi Master of Kung Fu.

This will be the first time Jessica Jones joins the "street level heroes" squad.

This project is the first time I've ever heard the Defenders described as "the street level heroes squad".  ::) Dr. Strange may live in Soho, but he isn't a street level hero (although he knows them), much less the Hulk, much less Namor -- and that was before the Silver Surfer joined.

Some of their (always temporary and rotating) members have been street level (including Hellcat, whose civilian character was introduced in JJ's series not incidentally). But they constantly have someone like Dr. Strange or the Valkyrie (a norse goddess on rough par with Thor) in the ranks, usually calling the group together.

Sounds like most of the regulars, for the Netflix series, will be so-called "street level".  I guess Marvel is holding on to the biggest names for their movies.

I'm fine with Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist getting much Netflix screen time in it.  Maybe a few cameos from others? 



Don't really care if Jess-EEEEE-cuhhh(!) shows up.  I watched that whole series but it seemed like one very long drawn-out rape vengeance run-up that should've ended much earlier.  And way too many "Jess-EEEEE-cuh!"s - I started hearing that in my head, like a bad song stuck in there.

No doubt. And I'm fine with DD, Power Man, and Iron Fist, and even Jewel (or whatever her name was) getting time in it. I don't even mind the street level characters being the MCU "Defenders", with that characteristic being what distinguishes them from the Avengers. I only mind the marketing implication that the Defenders are traditionally street level compared to the Avengers.

I been wondering how long before the term, "Captain America" becomes too politically incorrect for today. I mean "Captain" is clearly a militaristic reference and "America", that speaks to nationalism and that's a big No-No now days. Maybe something new like," Mr. Multiculturalism" but then "Mr." denotes sexual preference so maybe, " The Gender Neutral Person of Non-Aligned Allegiance". Or something for the Third World-- "Captain Un-American" or "The Super Socialist". Or they might take a cue from Prince and call him, "The Super-Hero Formerly Know As Captain America". Things I think about when I've had too much caffeine.
