Incidentally, word dropped recently that the 2nd Avengers movie will open with them fighting Baron Von Strucker, one of Cap's Nazi (now Hydra) villains. I feel reasonably safe assuming this will tie in to a plot thread left over from the upcoming Winter Soldier film.

Just thinking about this the other day.  Another thing I think that made Avengers great is that the actors didn't seem to trying to out do each other.  They seemed to realize that they were all equals.  I know Robert Downey Jr may have seemed that way, but I think that is just Tony Starks personality. 

Hopefully they keep that chemistry alive.

I remember seeing GoTG around comics back in the 90's, but never picked up any of their stories - just didn't appeal to me.  I did read the Infinity Gauntlet saga, but it became way too cosmic after that.

After winning the Golden Globe Sunday for "Behind the Candelabra," Michael Douglas has found a high-profile new gig as scientist Hank Pym in Marvel's "Ant-man."

Edgar Wright is helming the pic from a script he wrote with Joe Cornish.

"With Hank Pym's rich history in the Marvel Universe, we knew we needed an actor capable of bringing the weight and stature to the role that the character deserves," said Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. "We felt incredibly relieved when Michael Douglas agreed to step into the part with the charm and fortitude he brings to every character he inhabits, and couldn't be more excited to see what he will do to bring Hank Pym to life."

Plot details are being kept under wraps. Feige is producing.

Marvel had pursued Douglas early on for the part, but the actor was cautious until sources said he had a change of heart over the holidays.

I thought that I had read that Hank wasn't even going to be in this film (just referred to as the inventor of the suit)- so this is good news.

Pym definitely needs to be a younger dude.  But then again, they made Nick Fury a black guy, so what do I know.

I always thought that a solid SHIELD TV series that took spy work seriously, and based it's material on the old Steranko books, would've been fantastic.

Definitely not pleased about Douglas being Hank Pym.  Douglas is too old.  And I don't see him as Hank Pym at all.  Kind of like Tom Hanks as the lead in the Dan Brown movie adaptaions of DaVinci Code and Angels & Demons.  I always pictured Tom Cruise the professor.

This is kind of the same affront as casting Kelsey Grammar as The Beast in X-Men 3.
