Yeah, I saw that a while back; makes sense, even in a meta-conceptual way: the Hulk is pretty clearly a modern Universal Monster! -- which Universal played up hard in the Bixby/Ferrigno TV show, and in the Hulk movies.

...GUYS I JUST HAD THE MOST IDEA!11! UNIVERSAL'S ATTEMPT AT AN AVENGER-LIKE MONSTER CINEMATIC UNIVERSE SHOULD INCLUDE THE HULK!

Meanwhile, insider buzz says Marvel is looking for Shakespearean director Kenneth Branagh back as director of Thor 3.

Somewhat relatedly, I didn't realize he directed the recent live-action Disney Cinderella remake, though I've heard it's far more faithful an adaptation than the kind-of-disastrous Maleficent / Sleeping Beauty movie. (My nieces liked it well enough anyway.  O0 )

I loved the job he did on Thor 1. Thor 2 was also very well done without Branagh.

Agreed, both movies are rather underrated. And the plot of 3 seems more along the epic Shakespearean line that they hired him for the first movie on anyway.

It's really stupid that Marvel had to negotiate with Sony to use the Spider-Man character. Shows you how silly licensing gets and how it's about the dollar and not the fan base.  :-\

They have to make enough dollars to afford to please the fan base, so I'm willing to cut them some slack on that.

A number of crappy Marvel movies helped finance some good non-MarvStudio movies, and helped finance the start of the MarvStudio movies.
