Void Destroyer

I just saw this over at Space Sector and went over to Kick Starter and it looks pretty cool.

Combination rts/space tactical combat game made by one guy.  He has been working on it for four years and says it is in late alpha and the kick starter funds will be used to finish the art with a release date of late 2013.  There is a playable demo, which I haven't tried yet, and you can get the game for $12 right now (all the early bird slots are gone.)  He is doing this as a side project which is why he only needs $20k to finish.

I've already got 3 in progress KS projects backed, plus another project bought (Star Lords), but for $12, how can I go wrong? :)

I jumped in too.  I donated $25.  The alpha does not seem to be available though.  We have to wait for early beta which is currently scheduled for July.

I thought it looked pretty interesting as well.  I was able to download the alpha iteration 16 this afternoon, but kept getting an Voiddestroyerexe has crashed error, so couldn't get into the game.  The dev did respond fairly quickly on the game forum and gave me something to try (edit the orge.cfg file and change Full Screen=No). I'll give it another shot when I can get back to my desktop...

Is the alpha just the file that is downloadable on the official page?  If so, you don't  actually need to buy to download it.

Correct, its just the alpha/demo I downloaded....still can't get it to run though :(  Odd, as I can run just about every single other game/demo I try....
