Spycraft: The Great Game - Thoughts?

Spycraft: The Great Game has come out on www.gog.com

I was interested in this when it first came out. But the game was very expensive and reviews said it had next to no replay value.

Now it is $6 or so on gog. Has anyone played the gog version? Has anyone played it in the past and has any thoughts they would like to share?

I remember when FMV games were all the rage. Not sure I could get back into one of them...they are so 90s.

I actually played it for a while and enjoyed it.

However, I hit a dead end in my investigation and gave up, never to return.

Personally I don't think you'll waste $6 if you play it for a few hours. Heck, I'd like to go back and revisit the game to try and figure out where I went wrong.

I paid full price back on original release, and l recall hitting some kind of fatal bug or dead end (possibly like LB) but I don't recall what.

I wasn't having enough fun before then to respond with anything but a grimace when I saw GoG announce the release, though, so yeah no rebuy for me.

Maybe it was a practical joke? Like Operation Acoustic Kitty?

There was a CIA and KGB officer who both consulted on the project.

I never finished it either.... I lost my interest after a few hours. Can't quite figure out why, but it wasn't a game I enjoyed

It would seem we've all had similar experiences: we liked the game but had to quit/gave up after a few hours.

Given that, I'd still say I probably had six bucks' worth of fun. Maybe there's a walkthrough or something that Airboy can look for to get him over whatever part got us stuck.

If you can find it and run it IMHO one of the best spy games ever, very involved and most of all fun. When I first read your post I thought you meant Spy vs Spy, another classic :)

For some reason I'm getting a strong Burn Notice vibe from that Covert Action cover.

In somewhat related news, BN returns for a seventh season tonight and I'm kind of torn about that. The previous season was angling toward an "A-Team origin" ending to the whole series, and I was entirely okay with that, and for the first time I feel like the series has taken a step backward continuing the series at all. But on the other hand, more BN yay?!
