I intended to buy the Crusader Kings 2 collection on Steam the other day.  I saw it was on sale in the morning, and had a list of things to do for the day.  One day lead to another...which lead to me logging in to Steam to buy the game...and it was nolonger on sale.

I just saw that I can buy it today on GamersGate for the same price, but I'll have to download the entire thing again over a limited connection.  I'm only allowed 30GB per month.  And...I'd like to pick up DCS: Huey, Flaming Cliffs 3, Combined Arms, and P51.

Sigh...it's not even the Steam Summer Sale Season and I'm already facing financial ruin...

I've had the same thing happen to me too. It's frustrating as hell at times but so is my wife's family(just kidding I love them all).  ;)

There was an up to 70% discount on Panzer Corps campaigns if you had purchased earlier titles.

I qualified for the discount.  But when I went to apply for it it seems that my release codes had to be "registered" in a new system.  Seemingly Matrix did not register my serial numbers when I purchased the game.  I was swamped with work and did not have time to dig through a 2.5 year pile of stuff that needed to be filed to hunt down the keys.  I finally got my filing done last weekend and went to get the discount - and found out that it expired about a month ago.

I'm not complaining about Matrix - but I have been so busy that I ended up spending $28 bucks that I did not need to spend.

Maybe it'll be part of the Steam summer sale! In the meantime that beer drinking idea sounds good. I shall drink a scotch to show support for Martok's beer drinking idea.

I've done the opposite a few times -  purchasing a game at regular price the day before it goes on some big daily/weekly deal sale.  ::)

I just did something like that a couple weeks ago IIRC.

Yeah, today I saw deals for F1 and Dirt 3... after I bought them at full price.

Well, FWIW CK2 goes on sale every other week or so it seems so if you can be patient for just a bit longer you'll be able to get it on sale on Steam for sure.  Certainly in the next two weeks IMO.

Now then.  I poured myself a glass of wine before I sat down to log onto Grogheads.  I was feeling a little guilty- no good reason presented itself for a Tuesday glass of wine.  However, this thread most definitely serves as a good reason, so today I am a winner!

Its good to know I can always count on my Grogheads brothers (and sisters?) to be there for me.  :)

My ulcer ridden stomach prevents me from sharing a pint with you all, but I lift a glass of icy filtered water...which I am about to use to take my Prilosec.  *cheers*
