Interesting. Keep'em coming. I'm also interested in the French and Japanese involvements in Vietnam but short of a game of Civ V I am thinking that games with those countries will be few and far between.

  Wow, uh, dude,it turns out I was in Nam after all.  What happened was it was the Experience mod in all the ARMAs.  No wonder I was a bit vague.  I must have been back in 3 or 4 vaguely remembered versions over a ten-year period.  Thanks to everybody in this thread who remembered what I would otherwise have forgotten.

   There might have been a French ARMA mod with a nam component.  Oh boy.  Way down the jungle trail on that one.  Don't step in that pugilist thing.

What we REALLY need is an operational level computer game covering the entire war on the same scale as Victory games Vietnam board game from the early 80's. http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/5620/vietnam-1965-1975. Unfortunately I'm not thrilled with the modded scenario for Advanced Tactics: Gold which set out to do just that.

+1 For this. The VG board game is a classic. It would be great to have a computer version.

If you can get a copy of Victory in Vietnam II, it's very much like VG's Vietnam but on a much more manageable scale.  This one was a DTP and then a 2nd edition came out but is now OOP but I believe they are working to re-release it (I hope - I only have the 1st edition).  See some comments here:
