Judge Dread you should try this or the original BARIS game.   

Once you get into the manned missions it gets good.  Recall recruiting an astronaut with 4 capsule skill and succeeding against the odds with a manned orbital mission using a mercury capsule and the Atlas rocket. The Soviet have some good vehicles as well.. There is a reason Soyuz is still in use today.
